‘They make our life easier’ – Mohamed Salah has claified comments made after Liverpool rout of Manchester United

Liverpool have beaten Manchester United twice in the Premier League this season by a 9-0 aggregate and Mohamed Salah admits United have played into his side’s hands with their cautious approach. Liverpool lead the Premier League table by two points, with Manchester City facing Brighton in their game in hand on Wednesday.

Mohamed Salah has clarified his comments suggesting Manchester United’s tactics make Liverpool’s “life easier”.
Liverpool exposed the gulf between the two teams with a 4-0 demolition of their northwest rivals on Tuesday night, with Salah netting twice to help keep the pressure on title rivals Manchester City.
United chalked up unwanted milestones for interim boss Ralf Rangnick at Anfield, producing the fewest shots and lowest possession figures in any match under the German.
“They make our life easier in the midfield and at the back,” Salah told Sky Sports.
“They always try to give us the ball in a situation like one against one. So they make our life much easier.
“We have a clean sheet here, a clean sheet there [at Old Trafford]. We get to the game and want to score one goal. Once we get the first, we want to get the second, once we get the second we’ll go for a third.
“But I think it’s a top performance from us, here and away. Hopefully we’ll carry on like this.”
In the aftermath of Liverpool's win, and a 5-0 victory at Old Trafford in the reverse fixture, Salah's comments were initially interpreted as referring to the hapless performances from United.
However, the Egyptian has since taken to social media to clarify that he was referring to his own team-mates making it 'easier' for the Reds' attacking stars to flourish.
"I meant our midfield, and our defence, make it easy for us," he wrote on Twitter. "I was not talking about the Manchester United players whom I respect."
Salah’s brace also ended a run of six games without a goal but the Egyptian said he was not concerned by the mini-drought.
"I score many goals for this club. Sometimes you have bad luck,” he continued.
“The most important thing is the team winning. We just need to focus on ourselves and the rest is not in our hands."
Liverpool are two points clear of Manchester City, who welcome Brighton to the Etihad on Wednesday.
