EARLY BOOS FOR RONALDO
The Portuguese star hits the deck all too easily as United look to make an early impact. The referee shakes his head and the home crowd respond with a few jeers for the visitors' talisman.

BEES BOSS FRANK HAPPY TO BE THE UNDERDOG
"There is no doubt that Man United are the favourites - they can’t afford to not win against us - but we’ll be doing everything we can and I believe we have a good chance. I believe it’s going to be a fantastic game in many ways. Do I believe we can do something? Yes."

ERIKSEN READY FOR FAMILIAR FOE
"They have a lot of good players. Obviously when you play with them you see how they really are and what they’re capable of. You see more situations with the players than you normally do when you play against them for (just) 90 minutes. But they have some very good players. The striker, Ivan Toney, is very good. The keeper, David [Raya], has been very good, [Christian] Norgaard, of the Danish guys. The Danish guys are always good! They have good players in midfield and all round, and a few players that are very good."

'HOW'S IT GOING, CHRIS?'
"We helped him, and he helped us. You could see his qualities in their last game. He was used as a ‘9’ and as a ‘6’. He’s a flexible player. His quality on the ball is key and we know we can’t give him too much time because he can see the ball between the lines, behind the lines and has the quality to put it there on a string for any player.
“I’ll say hello, give him a hug and ask him how he and his family are doing. Then I look forward to us competing against him on the pitch. I’ll give him a hug after the game when hopefully we’ve got three points and he’s got zero! Let’s see!”

RONALDO STARTS FOR MAN UTD; TWO CHANGES FOR THE BEES
The main line from the team sheet is that Cristiano Ronaldo makes his first start of the new season as ten Hag makes just the one change from the defeat to Brighton. That means Eriksen does indeed feature against his former club while Scott McTominay drops out.
As for Brentford, Thomas Frank makes two adjustments from the 2-2 draw with Leicester City. Mads Roerslev and Josh Dasilva come in with Vitaly Janelt and Yoane Wissa missing out.
