Thomas Frank signs new contract to stay as Brentford manager until 2027, Premier League club announce

Brentford have announced Thomas Frank has signed a new contract extension which will see him remain as manager until 2027. Brentford are currently 10th in the Premier League after four wins and seven draws from the 15 league games prior to the break for the World Cup. They face Tottenham in the first of the Premier League boxing day matches on Monday.

Thomas Frank has signed a new contract to remain as Brentford manager until 2027.
At the start of 2022, Frank signed a deal to be head coach for the next three years but he and the club have agreed a new contract which will see him stay until the summer of 2027.
The Dane has been at Brentford since October 2018, leading them to promotion into the Premier League in 2021.
“Being a head coach at a club is like a relationship,” said Frank. “There are highs and lows I have been here six years in total, which is a long time in modern football, and I’d like to say thank you to the fans for the support you give us – the players, the staff, everyone involved with the club.
“The warmth, support and kindness every time I meet a Bees fan has been amazing and it gives me extra energy to continue the work going forward.
“We attacked the Premier League in the first season and we’re attacking it in our second season. I’m looking forward to hopefully continuing our progress and creating more magic moments together.”
His side were praised for their style of play and the way they bounced back from an eight-game winless run by going unbeaten in April, which included a 4-1 win away at Chelsea.

Director of football Phil Giles says Frank’s new contract is “deserved” following some “excellent results and performances in the last 18 months”.
“Thomas has a detailed knowledge of the game, but just as importantly is able to inspire the players and build strong relationships with our staff,” added Giles.
“He has proven himself to be a Premier League-level head coach but retains an open-mindedness to keep learning and improving himself.
“The recent addition of Claus Norgaard as an assistant first team coach, along with the opening of the Robert Rowan Performance Centre, gives Thomas, me and all the players and staff new energy to keep working hard and seeing how far we can take the club.”
