Arsene Wenger has admitted that former Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder is on his shortlist for a new director of football at Arsenal.
Wenger has had to deal with all transfers in person since David Dein was ousted from the club by a board unwilling to embrace a potential American takeover.
He will soon turn his attention to appointing someone to help out with the business and representative side of things.
"I like Glenn Roeder, but I've not met with him," he said. "At the moment I've not decided to appoint him. He would feature on a list of candidates though."
Former player at Highbury Gilles Grimandi is said to be in the running for the post.
Wenger's own future in North London is in doubt following the exit of Dein. He is out of contract next summer and is yet to discuss an extension.
