Motherwell manager Mark McGhee is ready to snap up youngsters Adam Virgo and Stephen Hughes as he aims to strengthen his squad before the SPL season begins.
The Motherwell boss worked with Virgo during his spell at Brighton and is keen to once again team-up with the 24-year-old, who moved to Celtic for £1.5 million in 2005.
"Adam is available on loan. I know what a good player he is and I will now look to see if we can get him to Motherwell," McGhee told the Daily Record.
McGhee is also tracking midfielder Stephen Hughes who moved from Rangers to Leicester for £100,000 in 2005.
The 24-year-old has been placed on the transfer list by Leicester boss Martin Allen and looks set to return to Scotland, with Hearts also showing an interest.
"This is ongoing, we haven't given up on signing Stephen," McGhee insisted.
"We are in discussions with Leicester and the player's representatives and I still hope a deal can be done."
