Rangers have signed Scotland Under-21 defender Steven Whittaker from SPL rivals Hibernian for a fee of £2 million.
The 23-year-old successfully passed a medical at Ibrox before penning a five-year contract.
He follows Kevin Thompson and Ian Murray in making the move from Hibernian to Rangers, and becomes Gers boss Walter Smith's ninth signing of the summer.
The versatile defender - who can also play in midfield - was called up to the Scotland squad for a Euro 2008 qualifier against France, although he did not feature in the 2-0 defeat.
Whittaker will have to wait to make his debut, as he still has a one-match suspension to serve from the end of last season, and he will miss Saturday's opener against Inverness.
