Football news - Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek admits he used FIFA to swot up on his team-mates

Krzysztof Piatek is one of the breakthrough stars in the early months of the 2017/18 Serie A season - and the Genoa striker has revealed the secret to his success.
The Poland international has taken the Italian top-flight by storm since his summer arrival from KS Cracovia, leading the goalscoring charts with nine strikes in his first 12 games.
His blistering start may be due to the comprehensive database provided by video game FIFA after the 23-year-old admitted his knowledge of the Genoa squad was limited upon his arrival.
"I had no idea who my team-mates at Genoa were when I signed, so I turned on my PlayStation and looked them up on FIFA," Piatek told Corriere Della Sera.
"None of my team-mates knew me either. I said to myself: 'If they don't know that I have scored 21 goals [for Cracovia last season] and scored in almost every game, maybe even the defenders will not know me.'
"Being a stranger at the bottom has given me an advantage."
Having joined Genoa for just €4.5million, he is now the name on everyone's lips and being tracked by a host of top European clubs.
Piatek revealed during the weekend that he may already be about to leave Genoa, admitting he has ambitions of playing in the Champions League.
Piatek added: "The dream of those who come to Genoa is that they use it as a stepping stone towards a big club.
"If I continue this way, I could sign for a big club. My objective is to play in the Champions League."
