Francesco Totti 'almost joined Real Madrid'

Francesco Totti has revealed that he 'almost joined Real Madrid' from Roma instead of remaining a one-club man.

Totti has admitted that he was "really close" to switching to Real Madrid in what would have been a sensational transfer to La Liga.
But he believes he made the "right decision" to stick with his childhood club and that staying with Roma was vindicated.
The Italian retired in May 2017, and he says he would only have considered moving to the Bernabeu.
"I was really close to moving to Real Madrid, but I made a huge life decision to stay at Roma for my entire career,” Totti told L'Intervista.
If I had decided to move, my choice was to move abroad but only to Real Madrid out of respect to the people and supporters of Roma.
"But in the end, I made the right decision to stay with my team that I have always supported and support forever."
It really is very hard to imagine Totti at any club other than Roma.
