Costa, as if he could add to his crime sheet inside a minute, carved down Di Francesco with a totally unnecessary challenge off the ball.

The Brazilian's challenge did nothing to prevent Sassuolo scoring - and then it all got much worse.

Absolutely disgusting. Costa was rightly shown the red card after VAR got involved, and surely a lengthy ban will now follow.
