GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Atalanta 0 AC Milan 2 (90+4 mins - Franck Kessie pen). A second penalty kick for Kessie and AC Milan are heading into the Champions League! Massive celebrations from everyone associated with the club! The three points are in the bag! Great composure shown by Kessie from the spot.

RED CARD! The referee has flashed a red card to De Roon and Atalanta have been reduced to 10 men in stoppage time! Meanwhile, there's chaos on the pitch. It's all happening!

PENALTY KICK TO AC MILAN! A handball inside the area and the referee points to the spot for a second time!

These are four huge minutes for AC Milan. They can't afford to count on results elsewhere. The only thing that will assure them a top four place is a victory here!

There will be four minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.

The fans outside the ground are roaring on their team to a top four finish and Champions League qualification. You can hear them! What an incredible effort!

So many of AC Milan’s squad have enjoyed good seasons, but they have run out of steam right at the end. The challenge for Pioli will be to build on the success of this campaign.

Donnarumma punch! That was a chance for Atalanta to apply some pressure on AC Milan, but the goalkeeper comes off his line to punch clear. And he wins the freekick!

It's certainly nervy stuff in Bergamo. AC Milan are edging closer to a place in next season's Champions League. A group of fans have assembled outside the stadium!

That's a bit of a foolish tackle from Mandzukic on Freulier and he is shown a yellow card.

Great run from Theo! The AC Milan wing back had loads of space to run into, but he had options on the right side and decided to take it one further, giving Atalanta the chance to make the tackle.

Atalanta have also taken the opportunity to make a change and it's Pasalic who is on.

... and Mandzukic is also on for Leao. He'll give AC Milan a target to hit in these final 10 minutes.

Two more AC Milan changes. Dalot is on for Saelemaekers...

As the club captain, there’s no denying just how important Donnarruma is to AC Milan. The loss of the goalkeeper this summer, especially if it’s to Juventus, would be a huge one.

Donnarumma was reported to be in talks with Juventus a few weeks ago. It’s fair to say that didn’t go down very well with the AC Milan support. They reacted rather angrily.

One of the big storylines that has dominated the agenda at AC Milan in recent months concerns the future of Donnarumma with the goalkeeper out of contract at the end of the season.

MURIEL... wide! That was a heart in mouth moment for AC Milan! Muriel picked up the ball, brushed past Meite and got the shot away on goal, but the ball flashes just wide of the post!

Another twist! Verona have scored an equaliser against Napoli and that shakes things up again in the race for the top four! Napoli would now be the ones to miss out on Champions League football!

De Roon is shown a yellow card for cleaning out Leao with a tackle.

Off the post! That was the chance for AC Milan to double their advantage! Brilliant play from Meite who won the ball and then set up Leao, but his shot comes back off the woodwork!

Calabria shot! The AC Milan defender saw the goalkeeper off his line, but Gollini got away with it as the ball flied over the crossbar! That was a decent attempt by Calabria!

PICTURE: It's been a bit of a scrap!

Napoli have scored! News from one of the other matches being played at the same time as this one and Napoli have found the back of the net! They lead Verona 1-0. Juventus back out of the top four!

Brahim has been in good form recently. It has taken the on-loan midfielder a while to find his feet in Milan, but there is now a suggestion that the Rossoneri would like to keep him from Real Madrid.

It's actually a double change with Meite on for Brahim.

A change is made by Pioli and it's Krunic who comes on for Bennacer.

Penalty claim! Atalanta believe they should have been awarded a spot kick for what they saw as a handball, but Tomori had his arm by his side. There was nothing in that.

Zapata chance! That's the closest Atalanta have come to finding the back of the AC Milan net! Zapata was played the pass inside the box, he turned, but his shot flashes across goal!

Muriel and Zapata are one of the best strike partnerships in Italian football right now. AC Milan will have their hands full to keep those two quiet this evening. So dangerous.

Muriel has the chance to run at the AC Milan defence for the first time since coming off the bench, but the tackle is made. The home side have struggled to create anything.

This has been a good defensive display from AC Milan so far. Their back four has been well drilled and that has denied Atalanta the space to get in behind and create opportunities.

Update from the Juventus game...

Tomori has impressed for AC Milan since signing on loan from Chelsea in the January transfer window. He is expected to make his move to the San Siro permanent this summer.

Of course, there’s no sign of Zlatan Ibrahimovic for AC Milan this evening. The Swedish striker has been sidelined for quite some time and will miss the Euros for his country.

AC Milan have reason to be optimistic here.. Indeed, Pioli’s side have kept a clean sheet in their last four league matches. A fifth one in a row would help them.

Another Juventus goal! Morata has scored a fourth for Juventus in their match against Bologna and so that means AC Milan reallt need to win this one to stay in the top four.

The first yellow card is shown to Freulier for a foul on Calhanoglu.

A change for Atalanta at the break and Muriel is on for the second half.

This was AC Milan's opener!

A longer half time interval than usual as all referees across Serie A wait for each other to start the second half. AC Milan have the narrow advantage in this crucial fixture!

The second half is under way! AC Milan have a 1-0 lead over Atalanta in this Serie A fixture!

HALF TIME: Atalanta 0-1 AC Milan - Kessie's penalty is the difference between the two teams at the break, although there has been very little between them in terms of general play.

There will be one minute of stoppage time played at the end of the first half.

Gasperini is fuming on the touchline. Not sure what about. It was a clear penalty kick for the away side. In fact, the Atalanta manager has been shown a yellow card for his protests.

There hasn't been much between these two teams in the first half, but AC Milan have their nose ahead. What will be the response from Atalanta? Will they attack a bit more?

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Atalanta 0 AC Milan 1 (42 mins - Franck Kessie pen). A huge goal for AC Milan and Kessie is the one who has scored it! Brilliant composure from the central midfielder who kept his composure and passed the ball into the bottom, left-hand corner of the Atalanta net! That's the goal Pioli's side needed!

Gasperini and the Atalanta players can't believe that AC Milan have been awarded a penalty kick, but the replays show it was a stonewall decision! Theo was completely cleaned out!

PENALTY KICK TO AC MILAN! Theo is felled inside the area by Maehle and the referee points to the spot!

Big decision! For a moment it looked like Leao could be clean through on goal, but he went to ground under pressure from Romero. The man in yellow decides there was no foul!

Not going to lie, I expected a bit more from this match. There's still time for it to burst into life, but AC Milan know they might need all three points to finish in the top four, right?

The omens are good for Atalanta this evening. They have won their last seven matches at home. However, will Gasperini’s side take their eye off the ball now they have secured a top four place?

The referee has a word with Gasperini on the touchline. The Atalanta manager has called for cards to be shown. He just needs to calm down. His players need him at the side.

Theo goes down and wins a freekick, but replays show there wasn't much contact with the AC Milan left back. The fact I'm bringing you this update tells you how little is happening...

Atalanta are renowned as one of the most entertaining teams to watch in European football. It’s been incredible to watch their development under Gasperini. How high can they go?

Gasperini’s Atalanta side found their groove about two months ago and have surged to second place in the Serie A table, although it was too late to mount a title challenge.

Juventus two up! It's looking good for the Old Lady in their game against Bologna. They now have a 2-0 lead after a goal from Dybala! The pressure is on AC Milan and Napoli!

Not a great deal happening right now. At least in terms of actual chances. Lots of running, lots of energy, but a distinct lack of qualiry from both teams. Atalanta edging it.

Atalanta are enjoying a good spell in the match. The hosts are camped on the edge of the AC Milan box, but in the end the cross is too close to Donnaruma who makes the catch.

Juventus started the evening in fifth place in the Serie A table, but Pirlo’s side are just one point behind Napoli and AC Milan. The Old Lady will be hoping for a slip-up by one of their rivals.

It's been a high tempo, high intensity start to the match in Bergamo, but it must be said that both teams have lacked quality in the final third of the pitch. Keepers been quiet.

Gasperini is such a brilliant coach. His Atalanta team is adaptable. It's sometimes impossible to track them because players go into areas of the pitch you wouldn't expect them to.

There are six matches all taking place at the same time in Serie A this evening, including the match between Bologna and Juventus. We’ll keep you informed of any big updates.

While Atalanta are already sure of their place in the Champions League, they can secure second place in Serie A tonight. That would be their best ever finish in the top flight.

Header wide! Djimsiti gets his head on the end of a freekick delivery into the box, but the Atalanta defender heads wide of the target. AC Milan aren't dealing so well with set pieces.

Before that, Atalanta edged a seven-goal thriller against Genoa. Gasperini’s side tend to end up in a lot of matches like that. They always attempt to out-score their opponents.

Atalanta, on the other hand, come into this match on the back of a disappointing defeat to Juventus in the final of the Coppa Italia. They had chances to get their hands on the trophy.

The goalless draw against Genoa last weekend was all the more surprising because the weekend before saw AC Milan put seven goals past Torino away from home. Two extremes.

Shot over the top! Theo allows Malinovskiy to cut inside on to his left foot, but the Atalanta attacker sends his effort over the crossbar! Gasperini might have expected better.

AC Milan come into this match on the back of a disappointing goalless draw at home to Genoa. A win in that game would have put Pioli’s side on the brink of a top four finish.

10 minutes gone in the match between Napoli and Verona and it's still goalless. We'll also keep you up to date with what's happening in that one. It will have a big bearing on this game!

As things stand... Juventus will be up to third place in the Serie A table, AC Milan will still be in fourth place with Napoli dropping out of the Champions League places in fifth place.

Juventus lead Bologna in the other game...

Ball over the top! AC Milan attempt to get Leao in behind the Atalanta defence with a ball over the top, but the goalkeeper comes quickly out to make the intervention. Rather easy.

It's been a decent start to the match by AC Milan who are looking to play on the front-foot. They have seen the majority of the ball in the opening six minutes or so.

Of course, not so long ago AC Milan were challenging for the Scudetto. They sat at the top of the table for a number of weeks. Now, though, they are merely targeting the top four.

First strike! It was a half chance for Saelemaekers, but the AC Milan wide man sends his shot over the top when he might have tested Gollini in the Atalanta goal with more composure.

What sort of match will we get this evening? Atalanta have already secured their place in the top four in Serie A, but AC Milan still have some work ahead of them to qualify for the Champions League.

The match is under way! It's Atalanta against AC Milan in this Serie A fixture!

Okay, here we go. We are about to get under way in Bergamo. Kick off is coming up shortly.

Can AC Milan get the result they need this evening? Three points will be enough for them to finish in the top four!

Not long until kick off in Bergamo. This promises to be a compelling end to the 2020/21 Serie A season!

Atalanta have already secured their place in next season's Champions League. Gasperini's side continue to punch well above their weight at the top of the Italian and European game.

No Rebic! Leao starts up front for AC Milan this evening. Ibrahimovic is out injured, as well knew, but there's also no sign of Rebic! How badly will AC Milan miss the Croatian?

Big news from the other game, which we'll be keeping an eye on...

I'm Graham Ruthven and you can catch me on Twitter ahead of the match to let me know your thoughts. Can AC Milan get the job done? Or will Juventus sneak back into the top four? Tweet me - @grahamruthven!

All on the line! AC Milan need a victory this evening to be 100% certain of their place in the top places in the Serie A table. This will be a tricky test for Pioli and his players!
