FULL TIME IN ET: Real Sociedad 1-1 Barcelona - PENALTY SHOOTOUT!
Januzaj has been brilliant for Real Sociedad since coming off the bench. He's very unfortunate not to have found the back of the net already. Barcelona now on the counter attack!
Januzaj strikes the post! That's the closest the Belgian has come to finding the back of the net! This time Januzaj strikes the woodwork with a wonderful freekick that beats ter Stegen, but not the post!
PICTURE: It's been a battle!
Another massive ter Stegen save! How many times is he going to save Barcelona? This time ter Stegen makes the save to prevent Januzaj scoring after he went through on the Barca goal!
Surely this is going to be resolved with a penalty shootout? Real Sociedad are giving it a real go on the counter attack. There is some space to be exploited in behind Barca!
What a cross that was! A great opportunity for Real Sociedad to score a second, but Oyarzabal just couldn't make a clean connection on the wonderful delivery from Januzaj.
Into the wall! The opportunity comes and gos for Barcelona. Griezmann had the freekick chance, but the Frenchman could only strike the wall. And then his second shot is saved by Remiro.
A freekick on the edge of the box... this could be dangerous. A foul on Trincao.
Barcelona have offered very little in the attacking third in this extra time period. In fairness, Real Sociedad have been pretty toothless as well. Just end this one with a shootout.
Both these teams are looking really leggy now. Was there really any need for these matches to go to extra time? Wouldn't it have been better to resolve it with a shootout?

Januzaj is on for the second half of extra time. Can he make something happen?
- E.T 2nd Half
The second half of extra time is under way! It's still 1-1 between Real Sociedad and Barcelona in this Spanish Super Cup semi final!
- End of E.T 1st Half
HALF TIME IN ET: Real Sociedad 1-1 Barcelona
There was some concern over Dembele there for a moment. The French winger looked to have pulled up, but it seems to be just cramp. That will be a relief for Koeman.
PICTURE: Oyarzabal scored from the spot
Dembele should have scored! The French winger cut inside on to his right foot after a Barcelona counter attack, but his shot was weak and straight at Remiro, who made the save.
- OffSergio BusquetsFC Barcelona
- OnRiqui PuigFC Barcelona
It should be noted that Puig was also introduced at the start of extra time. Sorry, missed that at the time.
- Yellow cardÓscar MinguezaFC Barcelona
Mingueza becomes the second Barcelona player to be shown a yellow card.
After a poor final 15 minutes of the match, Barcelona have taken a grip of the contest again. They are the ones passing the ball around the final third, although La Real remain dangerous.
That was a quite incredible save from ter Stegen. Zaldua's strike looked to be heading for the top corner, but the German's go-go gadget arms helped him push the ball over the bar.
Big save from ter Stegen! The Barcelona goalkeeper keeps things level with an astonishing save to stop Zaldua from finding the back of the net with a powerful drive from range!
- OffPedriFC Barcelona
- OnMiralem PjanicFC Barcelona
Barcelona have also made a change and Pjanic is on for extra time.
- OffAlexander IsakReal Sociedad
- OnWillian JoséReal Sociedad
Jose has also been introduced for Real Sociedad to give them some more presence in attack.
- OffAndoni GorosabelReal Sociedad
- OnJoseba ZalduaReal Sociedad
A change for Real Sociedad and on comes Zaldua for the extra time period.
- E.T 1st Half
Extra time is under way! It's 1-1 between Real Sociedad and Barcelona in this Spanish Super Cup semi final!
- End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Real Sociedad 1-1 Barcelona - INTO EXTRA TIME!
You'd have to think a goal here would be the winner. Neither of these two teams will want to play extra time. Real Sociedad have a corner kick, but it comes to nothing.
PICTURE: Oyarzabal equalised for La Real
Is there a late winner left in this match? Real Sociedad are pressing for it, but the danger comes when they leave so much space in behind. Barcelona could exploit that late on.
Imanol recognises the opportunity Real Sociedad have here. Barcelona are there for the taking and Imanol wants to go for the win that would see them through to Sunday's final.
- OffJon GuridiReal Sociedad
- OnAnder BarrenetxeaReal Sociedad
That is an attacking change from Imanol! He's going for it!
- OffMartin BraithwaiteFC Barcelona
- OnFrancisco TrincãoFC Barcelona
A first Barcelona change and Trincao comes on for Braithwaite.
Surely a foul! De Jong was surging through the midfield was was cleaned out. Bizarrely, the referee decides that was a fair tackle on the Barcelona midfielder and play is allowed to continue. What?!
It's strange that neither manager has made a change so far. Barcelona in particular could do with some fresh legs. Koeman also has some decent options on his bench.
There's just over 10 minutes left to play in this Spanish Supercopa semi final and as things stand right now it's Real Sociedad who look the more likely to score the next goal.
Both these teams look tired. Real Sociedad looked to be the wearier of the two sides about 15 minutes ago, but they have found a second wind and now it's Barca who are leggy.
PICTURE: Is there a late winner coming?
Isak did so well! The Swedish striker drives to the byline and cuts back a pass into the middle, but there was nobody in a blue and white shirt ready to apply the finishing touches!
Well wide! It was Portu who got the shot away on goal, but the Real Sociedad forward was never going to test ter Stegen with that effort. Well wide of the target in the end.
What is quite interesting is that Griezmann has dropped deep a lot tonight. The Frenchman is taking it upon himself to play the role usually performed by Messi.
Dembele has been one of the beneficiaries of Ansu’s injury. The French winger has been given an opportunity to show what he can do for Barca over a prolonged spell and he has taken that opportunity.
Barcelona have had more than their fair share of injuries to contend with recently. Pique is sidelined at the moment with Coutinho and Ansu also predicted to miss some more action through injury.
If Barcelona are going to make any signings, it will likely be in defence. As already mentioned, they have targeted Garcia from Man City and Arsenal’s Mustafi has also been mentioned as a potential signing.
The January transfer window is open, but there isn’t much in the way of speculation about potential targets. Of course, Barcelona have had their financial troubles of late. Not much money to spend.
Just wide from Dembele! The Barcelona winger creates the shooting space on the edge of the box, but the Frenchman couldn't test Remiro in the Real Sociedad goal. Dragged wide.
Questions have been asked about Busquets this season, but the veteran midfielder has, like many of his Barcelona teammates, found some good form of late. He is back to something nearing his best.
One of the biggest positives for Barcelona in having Araujo in the lineup is that he is much more mobile than any of the club's other options in central defence. Makes a difference.
Pique is still sidelined through injury. Barcelona are light in the way of options at the back right now, although there is a chance Eric Garcia could arrive from Manchester City before the end of the month.
- Yellow cardOusmane DembéléFC Barcelona
Dembele is booked for dissent. He was arguing with the referee about something.
Massive chance for de Jong! He should have put Barcelona ahead again! De Jong was clean through on goal, but he took too long to pick his spot and actually ended up fouling a defender.
As I said earlier, Oyarzabal looked most likely to be the man to restore parity for Real Sociedad. He has been very lively and Barcelona have struggled to keep tabs on him.
It was probably the right decision by the officials to award the penalty to La Real. There was a question of whether the handball was inside the area, but the replays show that it was.
- Goal by penaltyMikel OyarzabalReal Sociedad
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Sociedad 1 (51 mins - Mikel Oyarzabal) Barcelona 1. Oyarzabal steps up to the penalty spot and finds the back of the net to restore parity in this Spanish Super Cup semi final! The Spain international sent ter Stegen the wrong way from 12 yards out. His record from the spot is fantastic!
PENALTY KICK TO REAL SOCIEDAD! The referee spots a handball from de Jong and points to the spot. VAR confirms it!
PICTURE: De Jong scored the opener
If Real Sociedad are going to find a way back into this match you suspect it will involve Oyarzabal in some way. He has been the most dangerous player for the Basque side so far.
No changes made by either manager at the half time interval. It goes without saying Koeman will be the happier of the two coaches, with Barca 45 minutes away from the final.
- 2nd Half
The second half is under way! Barcelona have a 1-0 lead over Real Sociedad in this Spanish Super Cup semi final.
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Real Sociedad 0-1 Barcelona. De Jong's goal is the difference between the two teams at the break and the Catalans probably deserve to have the advantage on the balance of things.
It's not just de Jong who has been in good form for Barcelona of late. Griezmann has also found his role in this Barca team. The Frenchman is FINALLY looking the part for the Catalans.
As we were saying, de Jong has been used in a much more attacking role in recent weeks and that has really suited the Dutchman. He has been in excellent form for Barcelona!
- GoalFrenkie de JongFC Barcelona
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Sociedad 0 Barcelona 1 (40 mins - Frenkie de Jong). There's the breakthrough and it's Barcelona who have opened the scoring! Braithwaite gets Griezmann to the byline with a pass, the Frenchman clips a cross to the near post and de Jong is there to power home a header from close range!
Is there a goal left in the final five minutes of this first half? Barcelona have taken a grip of this game in the last 20 minutes or so. However, they are still lacking the final product.
Alba crosses the ball into the box having spotted the late run of de Jong into the area, but there was no way for the Dutch midfielder to get up that high and Remiro gathers it.
Oyarzabal has been very impressive in the first half of this match. Most of Real Sociedad's attacking moves have come through the Spain international. Very creative player.
Barcelona are starting to grow in stature in this game, but there's just something missing from their attacking play at the moment. That something might well be Messi.
Dest has been one of the success stories of Barcelona’s season so far. The American international has settled quickly into his new surroundings and is now seen as the club’s first choice right back. He’s being rested tonight.
Braithwaite heads over! The ball was worked out to Mingueza on the right wing, his cross into the middle was a decent one, but Braithwaite could only head over the crossbar!
Barcelona are missing Messi here. He is the one who usually provides the spark for the Catalans in the final third of the pitch. That spark has been absent in the opening 30 minutes.
To make a back three work, Koeman has fast-tracked a number of young defenders. Araujo and Mingueza have become first team figures for Barcelona this season. The latter in particular has impressed. He's at right back tonight!
Koeman initially tried to make the 4-2-3-1 formation work for Barcelona, but the Dutchman has experimented with a few different shapes in recent weeks. He has even used a back three a couple times. Is this a 4-3-3?
Braithwaite draws the save! A decent strike from the Danish striker who gets his shot away early after being played in behind, but Remiro makes the solid save at his near post.
That Lenglet effort might not have been up to much, but it's the closest Barcelona have come to finding the back of the net in the opening 25 minutes of this match. Toothless.
He couldn't resist! The space opened up for Lenglet 20 yards out from goal, but the French defender drags his shot wide of the target. The goalkeeper didn't need to concern himself with that.
Dembele plays a nice one-two with Pedri to break into the box, but the Frenchman takes one too many touches and that allows Monreal to prod away the ball before the cross comes in.
Until only a few weeks ago, it seemed Victor Font was the frontrunner to become the next Barcelona president, but now it is widely expected that Joan Laporta will come out on top in the election.
Of course, Messi’s decision whether or not to stay at Barcelona beyond the summer will largely depend on what happens in the club’s presidential election, which is due to come to a head in the coming weeks.
There is still a lot of speculation around Messi’s future at Barcelona with his contract up at the end of the season, but the 33-year-old at least looks a bit happier at the Camp Nou now.
Nearly 20 minutes gone and still no opening goal, but Real Sociedad have certainly been the more threatening of the two teams. They have had a few decent scoring chances.
Big save! A rapid counter attack led by Oyarzabal sees Real Sociedad cut open the Barcelona defence, Isak is played through, but ter Stegen comes off his line to smother the shot!
Griezmann has also been in good form for Barcelona of late. The French forward has struggled to find his role at the Camp Nou, but has played well recently. His work ethic is key to the Catalans.
That was always going to be tough for Isak. The cross from Monreal found the Real Sociedad striker in the middle, but there was so much pace on it he couldn't control the shot.
This will actually be a decent test for Pedri, with Messi not in the Barcelona team. How will he manage without his partner in crime and mentor? The teenager is so impressive for his age.
The emergence of Pedri has played a key role in turning around Barcelona’s season. The teenager has become an important player for the Catalans and has struck up an understanding with Messi.
De Jong has been in good form of late. The Dutch midfielder has been playing a more advanced position for Barcelona and this has allowed him to play a more active role in the final third.
Well, there's no denying Real Sociead have had the better of the opportunities in these early exchanges. Portu really didn't catch that last strike. Appeared to actually kick the ground.
Chance for La Real! Portu is presented with the opportunity for the Basque side, but he sends his shot wide when he really should have tested Ter Stegen from inside the penalty area.
Monreal is down after he was clattered by Dembele, but the former Arsenal defender looks fine to continue. Monreal has actually become a key figure for La Real since leaving England.
After an early spell of possession from Barcelona, it's Real Sociedad's turn to now zip the ball around their defence and midfield. Both teams feeling their way into this contest.
There's no doubting Real Sociedad have the quality to trouble Barcelona this evening, even without Silva involved. Their recent form, however, has been very poor. Low on confidence.
Header over! The first chance of the match falls to Real Sociedad with Isak getting on the end of a cross into the penalty box, but the Swedish striker heads over the crossbar.
Barcelona have taken a grip of this game early on in terms of their control of possession, but Real Sociedad are pressing high on the Catalans. That is a very obvious ploy from them.
Barcelona come into this game on the back of an eight-game unbeaten run. The Catalans have turned around their season and victory this evening would underline the improvements they have made.
The first semi final of this season's Spanish Cup Cup is under way. The competition has undergone an overhaul recently. Of course, it used to be a two-legged final only in seasons gone by.

The match is under way! It's Real Sociedad against Barcelona in this Spanish Super Cup semi final!
Okay, here we go. We are about to get under way in Cordoba. Kick off is just moments away.
Real Sociedad, of course, are also without Silva for this evening's game. Not just Messi that's missing.
Not long until kick off here. What sort of match will we witness this evening? How will Barca cope without Messi?
The other Spanish Super Cup semi final will see Athletic Club take on Real Madrid tomorrow evening. This could result in a Clasico in Sunday’s final. Or a Basque derby. Could be a spectacular finale!

This has the potential to be a cracker of a match. Real Sociedad are a good team on their day, but they come into this game on the back of a draw against Osasuna and a defeat away to Sevilla.
Messi missing! Barcelona are without their number 10 for this evening’s match. Koeman has rotated Messi in and out of his team in recent weeks and it seems the Argentine has been rested tonight.
