Ailton in Zurich hop

Crvena Zvezda striker Ailton has joined Grasshoppers on loan until the summer.

Brazilian Ailton helped Werder Bremen to the Bundesliga title and German Cup in 2003-04 and was awarded player of the year for his 28 goals.

"Ailton has been loaned to Grasshoppers until June 30th," Crvena Zvezda stated, "with an option for the Swiss club to sign him permanently.

"Both sides are happy with the move."

The 33-year-old midfielder-cum-striker has not scored prolifically since signing for the Serbian champions.
