Gabriel Jesus continued his red-hot form, scoring the opening goal as Manchester City breezed into the fifth round of the FA Cup courtesy of a 5-0 thumping of Burnley at Etihad Stadium.
The Brazilian broke the deadlock after 23 minutes - his eighth goal in five games - as City converted their dominance into a one-goal lead at the break.
Pep Guardiola rotated his side only slightly, signalling his intentions in this season's competition, and he was rewarded with a fine performance from his charges.
Matej Vydra should have levelled the game for Burnley immediately after the restart, however, but a couple of minutes later Bernardo Silva put City out of sight with a deflected finish.
Kevin De Bruyne put the gloss on a fine performance with a rocket from the edge of the penalty area before Kevin Long scored an own-goal and substitute Sergio Aguero netted from the spot, as City claimed their place in Monday's draw for the last 16.

TALKING POINT - De Bruyne back in business

The Belgian made his third start in a week as he continues to build his fitness after two lengthy lay-offs. On this performance, registering an assist as well as his fine goal, it looks like he has discovered his very best form once again, and that will be music to the ears of City supporters, who know how vital the 27-year-old is to their club's chances of competing on all four fronts this season. His inclusion, and that of Fernandinho - with two hugely important league games to follow next week - is an indication of just how seriously Guardiola, who has yet to win the FA Cup, is taking this competition.

MAN OF THE MATCH - Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

His willingness to run, no matter the score, is one of the Belgian's greatest assets. He never stopped all afternoon, constantly drifting into space, picking holes in the Burnley defence and few players in the world football possess such a sweet shot.

KEY MOMENTS

23' - GOAL! Manchester City 1-0 Burnley: The in-form Jesus breaks the deadlock with a lovely goal. And it's a goal of his own making! Danilo slips a ball down the channel and the Brazilian does the rest, cutting inside to beat a couple of defenders before slotting past Pope.
48' - VYDRA IS THROUGH ON GOAL! Dear me, he's missed! The Burnley forward, who had hardly touched the ball all afternoon, steals the ball from Otamendi and only has Ederson to beat, but he can only fire the ball into the side-netting. Huge opportunity.
52' - GOAL! Manchester City 2-0 Burnley: Bernardo Silva doubles City's advantage - and that should be that. He accepts the pass from De Bruyne, checks inside and blasts a shot at goal. It takes a deflection off Pope and ends up in the back of the net. It's his eighth goal of the season.
61' - GOAL! Manchester City 3-0 Burnley: It's a rocket from De Bruyne! He strikes a low shot clean as a whistle from the edge of the penalty area and Pope can't get near the ball as it nestles into the bottom corner.
74' - OWN GOAL! Manchester City 4-0 Burnley: City have their fourth but it will go down as an own-goal. De Bruyne's willingness to run never ends. He picks the ball up at the byline and drills the ball into a dangerous area, it ricochets off Long and ends up in the back of the net.
85' - GOAL! Manchester City 5-0 Burnley: Aguero steps up confidently... and slots his penalty into the bottom corner, sending Pope the wrong way.
