Paul Pogba scored one and made another as Manchester United eased into the FA Cup quarter-finals with a 2-0 win over Chelsea.
First Ander Herrera scored, stooping to head home a brilliant Pogba cross, before the Frenchman make it two with a header of his own just before the end of the first half.
Chelsea put United under pressure with a succession of corners after the restart, but apart from a VAR review for a potential penalty for Antonio Rudiger and a deflected Eden Hazard shot, United weathered the storm.
Boos rung out at the full-time whistle as Blues boss Maurizio Sarri moved closer to the exit after another dismal display, just eight days after their 6-0 humiliation at Manchester City.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reward for leading United to a first victory at Stamford Bridge since the Sir Alex Ferguson era is a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the last eight.

TALKING POINT

Has Sarri lost the fans for good? First half time, and then the introduction of Ross Barkley and Davide Zappacosta in the second half, brought boos - boos only dwarfed by the angst at full time. Sarri has struggled in 2019 and the fans appear to have lost patience.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Ander Herrera (Manchester United): This is not a great ground for Herrera. He dived years ago, and struggled as a man-marker on Eden Hazard in previous visits. On this occasion he was a brilliant box-to-box midfielder, not only breaking up play and performing well in defence, but turning up for the first goal when the chance presented itself. This is the player he promised to be years ago.

KEY EVENTS

9’ - SMALLING HEADER! Matic floats an excellent pass to the back post for Smalling, and he heads straight at Kepa. It wasn't a great header, but it would have taken an exceptional one to loop it over the 'keeper.
11’ - ROMERO SAVES! Luiz loops a free kick over the wall, Romero has to beat it away, and Pedro volleys an effort into the 'keeper's chest before he collects.
17’ - HIGUAIN HEADER! Azpilicueta curls in a cross for Higuain, and he heads unmarked just wide of the bottom corner.
31’ - GOAL! Chelsea 0-1 Manchester United. Herrera scores - Mata finds Pogba on the left, who scoops a lovely cross to Herrera, unmarked at the back post, and he kills the ball to send a header across Kepa and into the net.
45’ - GOAL! Chelsea 0-2 Manchester United. Pogba scores - Pogba sends a ball out wide for Rashford. He has time for a cross, picks out Rashford, who leans into a leap and drills it towards goal, whose weak hand can't keep it out.
64’ - HAZARD SHOT! Hazard cuts in from the right after selling Lindelof. He comes onto his left and rifles a shot at goal from about eight yards out and somehow Lindelof gets a toe to it to send a shot just over.
