It did not have the goals we may have hoped for but an absorbing contest nonetheless with Sweden probably just deserving to squeeze through to face Canada. Thanks for following the match with us.

Hurtig is through on goal and Carpenter wisely brings her down thirty yards from goal and takes the red card.

Rolfo gets to the by-line and pulls back for Blackstenius who somehow blasts well wide of the target with the goal absolutely gaping.

Asslani has the ball in the back of the net but the goal was disallowed for Blackstenius being offside in the build-up.

It is all Sweden now. Jakobsson wins a corner and Micah was relieved to hear the referee blowing up for a foul from the ensuing corner.

The game is more stretched now and Asilani finds Jakobsson inside the box but she cannot get a shot on target.

Kerr gets a header at goal from Raso's cross but the effort is straight at Lindahl.

Yallop finds Kerr in a dangerous position in the left hand side of the box but she is flagged offside.

Australia back on the attack and Simon at the back post swings at the ball and catches Lindahl's fingers and the goalkeeper is now getting treatment.

What a crazy goal. Angeldal's shot from 25 yards out is deflected and bounces wickedly above Micah who could only palm the ball onto the bar and Rolfo on the rebound angled an effort acrobatically home with her right foot.

An absorbing contest. Sweden with the better football and in control midway through the game, coming closest to scoring with Rolfo's rocket against the bar, but Australia didn't want the half to end with Kerr twice close to scoring.

Lindahl can only push a corner to the edge of the box and Yallop blasts at goal but over the bar.

45' FOUR MINUTES OF INJURY TIME - AUSTRALIA 0-0 SWEDEN

She meets an inswinging cross from the left wing with a glancing header that is less than a yard wide of the post with Lindahl stationary.

Sam Kerr briliantly volleyed home the cross from Catley but the whistle had just gone for a push in the box. Not obvious to see the incident and Lindahl would have had no chance with the effort.

The keeper didn't look altogether convincing but managed to get the edge of her palm to Kennedy's curling free kick and tip over the bar.

Simon is brought down by Bjorn 25 yards from goal on the right hand side of the field. Perfect position for Catley to cause danger.

No need for Lindahl to come 25 yards out of her goal there and Kerr goes around her but from a tight angle is forced to pass inside and the danger is snuffed out.

Asilani on the break just fails to set free Jakobsen in the right hand side of the penalty area.

A good period of play for Australia around the Sweden area with Raso and Catley putting crosses into the area.

Lovely cross from the left wing from Catley which Lindahl drops but no Aussie player was there to pounce.

Sweden get the first corner of the game, a fortunate award, but thankfully no goal comes for it as Kerr then Simon are back clearing to help out their team.

Lovely turn 25 yards from goal from Asilani but MIcah gets down to her right and comfortably stops the shot.

Rolfoe tries to squeeze a ball through to Blackstenius but it is a little too firm.

SWEDES STRONG FAVOURITES

Bookies understandably have Sweden at around 1/3 to qualify after they beat Australia 4-2 in the group stages. Sam Kerr will surely have something to say about that though...even with her mystery injury.

HAVE THE MATILDAS RECOVERED?

Friday-to-Monday is not the greatest recovery time after a Slobberknocker (copyright Jim Ross) of a match, the seven-goal thriller against Great Britain on Friday. The Swedish route was a more sedate 3-1 victory over hosts Japan. Will this disparity play a part in the shape of weary legs in the last third of normal time or possibly extra time? We will soon find out.

JUST THE ONE CHANGE...

Chloe Logarzo comes into the Australia side for Aivi Luik which could see Steph Catley drop into the back three. The Swedes are unchanged from their 3-1 victory over Japan.
