Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly unleashed the hair dyer treatment on his players after their defeat to PSG whilst Son Heung-min is set for a new deal. It's Friday's Paper Round.
Solskjaer gives United players hair dryer treatment after PSG defeat
We begin with an exclusive from The Sun which says Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave his player the hair dryer treatment after their 2-0 loss at home to PSG on Tuesday. It was the first loss under the interim boss and he let his team know his disappointment for the manner in which they gave away the first goal, and how many free-kicks and bookings they conceded. Midfielder Paul Pogba reportedly punched a locker and then apologised to his team-mates following his red card.
Paper Round's view: This is hardly too much of a surprise, some of United's play on Tuesday was extremely disappointing. However, when you dig in it seems as if this might not have been quite Sir Alex Ferguson-esque from his former striker and that makes sense. After all PSG are a way ahead of United at this moment in time and they are still in a far better place than they were when Solskjaer first came.
Son to land new deal
The back page of The Mail has an exclusive that says that Tottenham Hotspur will offer the in-form Son Heung-min a new contract in the summer as a reward for his performances. Son signed a new five-year contract in July to take his wages to around £110,000-a-week but according to the report he will move closer to Dele Alli on around £150,000-a-week.
Paper Round's view: Is there a player more in form than Son right now? It's certainly hard to see many who can better the South Korean. Spurs need to get him locked in for as long as possible and ensure that he doesn't go anywhere.
Blanc wants job in England
The Mirror have an exclusive that Laurent Blanc wants to return to management, specifically in the Premier League. Blanc, who played for Manchester United, has teamed up with agency Base Soccer according to the report as he looks to get another job.
Paper Round's view: Blanc seems to be perennially linked to jobs without actually ever getting one, which probably tells us something. Blanc's been tentatively linked with Chelsea in the past couple of days and that would appear to be an extremely backwards move should the club sack Maurizio Sarri.
Messi joins Pique in Davis Cup adventure
We end with an exclusive from The Mail which says that Barcelona forward Lionel Messi is involved with Gerard Pique's venture into tennis. Pique's investment group Kosmos have taken over the Davis Cup and in an interview the defender revealed that team-mate Messi is an investor as well.
Paper Round's view: Watching Pique try and take over tennis is certainly interesting to observe, and it is also intriguing to see that Messi is involved. It doesn't really to appear to have distracted him from his play on the pitch...
