Sergio Ramos could be a free agent in the summer if he is unable to agree terms over a new contract with Real Madrid. He wants a new two-year deal despite the Liga champions' policy of normally giving one-year contracts to players over the age of 30. Manchester City are said to be monitoring the progress of the talks closely with the hope they could come in for him.

Ramos’ contract expires on June 30 and can already negotiate with other clubs should he wish to with less than six months left on his existing deal.
