21:10 - Bruce won't walk away from Newcastle
Steve Bruce is determined to turn things around at Newcastle after seeing his side beaten by previously winless Sheffield United tonight.
The pressure is mounting on Bruce as Newcastle have now gone eight games without a victory in all competitions.
But he said: "I will never walk away from a challenge. I understand that especially the first half we were not good enough and I take responsibility for that."
20:15 - £100m for Koulibaly?
Napoli have ruled out selling defender Kalidou Koulibaly this month unless it is for a huge transfer fee.
The centre-back has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past, but Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis does not expect him to leave in January.
Presenter Jim White said on talkSPORT: “There isn’t a window in the last two, three or four that we don’t see big mentions of the Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly. This morning I spoke to Aurelio De Laurentiis, the Napoli owner, and said what about your player, are there bids in for him? He laughed it off saying he’s not for sale. He’s absolutely not for sale unless one of the big clubs in England come up with £100million."
19:15 - Ozil's agent talks up exit
The rumblings of Mesut Ozil heading to Fenerbahce continue. Now it's his agent saying that a move to the Turkish club would be a "great moment" for Ozil.
18:20 - Brighton close on Caicedo
It looks like Moises Caicedo is heading to Brighton.
After being linked with Manchester United and Newcastle, it is being reported by transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano that Brighton are "confident" of signing Caicedo.
Romano reports that a deal of €6m has been agreed with Independient del Valle and a work permit is all that's left to complete the deal.
17:35 - Jovic set for Frankfurt return
Luka Jovic is reportedly set to leave Real Madrid this month and return to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan.
The striker joined Real for £55m from Frankfurt in 2019 but has struggled for opportunities.
Goal report that he is now set to return to the Bundesliga side.
16:45 - Chelsea considering Grant
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is thinking about bringing former manager Avram Grant back to Stamford Bridge to work alongside current boss Frank Lampard, report Sky Sports.
The Russian billionaire reportedly believes Grant's experience could help Lampard. Chelsea sit ninth in the table having won just one of their last six Premier League matches.
Grant, who managed Chelsea to the Champions League final in 2008, took the time out to release a video on social media five days ago where he calls for Lampard to be given more time at Chelsea.
He said in a video on Instagram: "About the current situation, I can say only this. You need to be strong when things are not going well, when things are going well everyone is a genius and knows what to do.
"But in the situation like this when things aren't going well you need to be strong, look for solutions and show a lot about your character.
"What I can say to Frank and the others at the club is be patient, and more than this do whatever is necessary to do, that's for sure. Two things: never lose it even when things are going well, don't lose your fighting spirit at the highest level.
"And second, don't lose what you have here [points at head] - you need to think right and look for solutions. If you do that, then everything will be OK because the quality is there and there is a potential like there was [at Chelsea] in my time."
16:10 - New deal for Holding
Arsenal defender Rob Holding has signed a new four-year contract with an option of a further year, the Premier League club have confirmed.
Holding has made 96 first-team appearances for the Gunners since his arrival from Bolton in July 2016, winning two FA Cups.
Technical director Edu said: “We are very happy to have signed Rob on a new contract extension.
"He is 25 years old, so is still coming into the peak of his career, and we are delighted that he’ll be with us during these important years.
"Rob has shown great quality and maturity on and off the pitch in recent months and is developing well. We are looking forward to Rob continuing his progression in the years to come.”
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta added: "We’re looking forward to watching him continue to grow with us in the coming years.”
15:55 - Real Madrid 'delaying on Camavinga until April'
Rennes' Eduardo Camavinga remains a transfer target for Real Madrid, but the La Liga champions do not want to make a decision on whether to sign him or not until April, report AS.
Madrid reportedly want to wait it out while they assess the impact Covid-19 has had on the club's finances.
The highly-rated 18-year-old central midfielder had made 64 first-team appearances for Rennes already in his short career and Zinedine Zidane is reportedly an admirer of the France international.
15:30 - Fosu-Mensah 'en route to Germany'
Timothy Fosu-Mensah is on his way to Germany to complete his transfer to Bayer Leverkusen from Manchester United, according to Sky Germany.
He is expected to sign a four-year deal for a fee of £1.8m.
Fosu-Mensah is out of contract in the summer. The 23-year-old has only made 30 appearances for United since his debut in February 2016 and has had loan spells at Crystal Palace and Fulham.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke about Fosu-Mensah on Friday, telling reporters: "It’s difficult when you have good players, talented players, and you can’t give them gametime.
"He’s [Fosu-Mensah] now at the stage where he needs to go and play again."
15:05 - Lingard 'rejected by two Serie A clubs'
Jesse Lingard has been rejected by Inter Milan and AC Milan as United look to offload the 28-year-old, according to Calciomercato.
The report says Milan are put off by his age while Inter boss Antonio Conte and director Beppe Marotta are said not to be particularly excited by him.
Inter's transfer budget is said to be already limited due to the impact Covid-19 has had on their finances.
Inside Football reports today that Sheffield United are interested in signing Lingard to help them in their battle for Premier League survival.
14:30 - Benkovic joins Leuven
Leicester defender Filip Benkovic has joined Belgian side OH Leuven on loan until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old Croatia international - who has already had loans at Celtic, Bristol City and Cardiff from the Foxes - has made just two appearances for the Midlands club since his arrival in August 2018.
14:15 - Six Madrid stars on market to fund Mbappe move
Real Madrid have unveiled the ‘Mbappe Formula’ – a financial plan they hope will see Kylian Mbappe swap Paris Saint-Germain for the Spanish capital.
The Spanish giants are planning to put six players on the market this summer to raise an eye-watering nine-figure fee. But will PSG play ball?

13:50 - AC Milan in Tomori talks
AC Milan are in talks to sign Fikayo Tomori on loan until the end of the season, according to Fabrizio Romano.
With gametime hard to come by at Chelsea, Tomori is likely to leave the west London club this transfer window on loan in pursuit of first-team football.
Milan are reportedly keen on the central defender, but even if the move failed to materialise he looks set to go on loan somewhere this month with Blues boss Frank Lampard wanting him to get some matches under his belt.
13:35 - Mourinho unsure if Gedson will stay
Jose Mourinho was also asked if Gedson Fernandes will stay at Tottenham for the rest of the season. The 22-year-old hasn’t played a single Premier League game this campaign and has featured just twice in all competitions.
Although Spurs have the option to sign him for £40m at the end of his loan, It is looking increasingly likely his 18-month deal will be terminated early and he will return to Benfica in this window.
“I don’t know [if he will stay]," the Spurs boss told reporters.
"From a selfish point of view, if he stays I’m very happy because he’s a good player. When we need him we know we’re having some quality from him, of course it’s a pity he’s not in the Europa League list, we played already nine matches in the Europa League.
“I would imagine playing Europa League would be a much happier situation for him, but in a selfish look at it, I would like him to stay. But we are not selfish, we also think about the players, we think about the father club. We just have to wait.”
13:05 - Jose: Winks going nowhere
Jose Mourinho says Harry Winks is not leaving this transfer window despite the 24-year-old repeatedly being linked to La Liga club Valencia on loan.
"What do I have to say to stop with this talk?" he told reporters this afternoon.
"I said already that he's going nowhere. When I say he's going nowhere, what more do you want me to say? He played the last matches. He didn't play the last one because it was a chance to let players like Gedson get minutes.
"Tomorrow he's selected again. If someone's talking to other clubs I'd say don't waste your time."
Winks has played 12 times for Spurs in all competitions this season and has a contract with the Premier League club until 2024.
12:45 - Ozil to Fenerbahce 'closer' - president
Fenerbahce President Ali Koc has revealed that a deal to sign Mesut Ozil from Arsenal is "closer" than it has ever been before.
The 32-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to join the Turkish giants this month as he approaches the end of his contract at the Emirates.
Ozil has been tipped to join Fenerbahce, with his brother even posting a picture of their badge on his Instagram story along with a winking face emoji.

12:30 - Jose: No Gonzalez interest
Tottenham have been linked to Stuttgart's Nicolas Gonzalez in recent days, but Jose Mourinho says the north London club are not interested in signing the 22-year-old forward valued at £27m.
Spurs play Fulham in the Premier League tomorrow evening. When Mourinho was asked if he was interested in the Argentine in his pre-match press conference, the answer was very straightforward: "No".
12:05 - Simeone: Dembele deal 'very advanced'
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has confirmed they are at a "very advanced" stage in their pursuit of Lyon striker Moussa Dembele.
"It's still not confirmed, but it's very advanced," the Atletico coach told reporters ahead of the La Liga leaders' clash with Sevilla tonight.
I'm going to turn my head towards the game, which is what interests me, and when there's something [on Dembele], if there is something, I'll give an opinion.
The 24-year-old is set to move to Madrid on loan until the end of the season and Atletico will have the option to buy him for a reported £29.6m at the end of it.

11:50 - Sheff Utd make Lingard, Williams enquiries
The Blades will make at least two signings this month in a bid to help their fight against relegation from the Premier League.
Lingard was recently linked with a surprise move to Italian giants Inter Milan but concrete interest has arrived from the Sheffield club, writes Dean Jones.
11:35 - Bolivar join City Football Group
Manchester City’s umbrella ownership organisation City Football Group has set up a partnership with Bolivian outfit Club Bolivar.
While the move is not an acquisition for CFG, whose network encompasses 10 teams and includes Major League Soccer side New York City and Spanish outfit Girona among others, it marks a deal to share strategic advice with Club Bolivar.
The Bolivian giants become the eleventh club to be taken in by Manchester's City ownership. The other ten are: Manchester City, Girona, Lommel, Melbourne City, Montevideo City Torque, Mumbai City FC, New York City FC, Sichuan Jiuniu FC, Troyes and Yokohama F. Marinos.
Ferran Soriano, Chief Executive Officer of City Football Group, said: "We are very pleased to grow our global presence through this important collaboration with Club Bolivar, City Football Group's first Partner Club.
"This long-term agreement is the first of its kind and will enable Club Bolivar to draw down on and utilise the wide range of football industry expertise developed by City Football Group.
"As well as supporting Club Bolivar's ambitions, we have an opportunity to learn. Our work in Bolivia will certainly strengthen our knowledge of, and network in, South American football."
11:15 - Arsenal still want a creative mid - Inside Football
Arsenal's number one priority in the January transfer window is a new creative midfielder, with Mesut Ozil moving ever closer to an exit from the club.
Dean Jones explores some of Arsenal's options and also reveals that the club are now looking at potential loan targets, with a big spending spree off the cards.
10:55 - Liverpool Women manager Jepson leaves club
Liverpool manager Vicky Jepson has left the club after over two years in charge.
“It’s with a heavy heart that my time has come to an end with Liverpool football club; the place I love and have been lucky enough to call home for over a decade,” said Jepson.
Liverpool picked up six points in 14 matches in the Women's Super League last season before the campaign was abandoned due to Covid-19, resulting in the Merseyside club getting relegated.
Jepson leaves the club third in the second tier and eight points behind leaders Leicester with a game in hand.
10:40 - Burnley turning to AI to recruit players
Burnley's search for prospective academy players will be boosted by the power of artificial intelligence, with the Premier League club announcing on Tuesday that it had partnered with talent identification platform AiSCOUT.
The club said interested players above the age of 14 can upload videos of themselves undertaking specific drills to the platform's mobile app and their performance will be compared against others on the artificial intelligence system.
Scouts will use data to rate players' technical, athletic, cognitive and psychometric ability, with a chosen few invited to attend formal academy trials later this year.
"This is a first opportunity for us to introduce new data-led technologies into the club and promote Burnley to the wider football world by giving aspirational young players across the world an opportunity," Burnley chairman Alan Pace said.
"We look forward to expanding the programme throughout 2021."
10:20 - Arsenal 'not chasing Buendia'
Arsenal have opted against a pursuit of Norwich playmaker Emi Buendia after the Championship club put a £40m price-tag on the player, the Express reports.
Arsenal are looking to sign a creative midfielder, technical director Edu recently admitted, given Mesut Ozil is expected to leave either in January or when his contract expires in the summer.
Buendia had appeared to be a more affordable option, in comparison to Isco or Julian Brandt, but Arsenal will now look elsewhere given the fee Norwich are asking for.
Paper Round's view: In Emile Smith Rowe, it appears Arsenal already have the answer to the question of who can fill the void of Ozil. It is, after all, one that has been left open for a year already, but with Smith Rowe shining in Ozil’s absence, perhaps matters will turn to finding a backup to let Smith Rowe continue flourishing.
10:05 - Chelsea, Arsenal tracking Akman
Chelsea and Arsenal are among the Premier League sides tracking Turkey U21 international striker Ali Akman, report the Daily Mail.
The 18-year-old has scored nine goals in 16 appearances for Bursaspor this season which has caught the attention of the two London clubs.
RB Salzburg and Galatasaray both reportedly tried to sign the striker in December.
Akman has six months left on his contract and is set to leave the Turkish Super Lig side, but Bursaspor would reportedly be willing to sell him this window for £3m.

As reported earlier, here is the front page of AS with the headline 'The Mbappe Formula'.
The report claims Real Madrid are working on an economic plan to sign PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe in 2021 by selling €100m worth of squad players and bringing in €800m from gate receipts with the projection fans will return to the stadium this year. Not that all €900m would be spent on one player... or would it?
09:20 - Tomori to AC Milan?
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano is reporting Fikayo Tomori could be on his way to AC Milan this transfer window should they fail in their pursuit of Strasbourg's 20-year-old defender Mohamed Simakan.
The 23-year-old has played just four times for Chelsea this season and he would reportedly welcome the move to Italy with Milan considering a loan move for the promising talent.
Speaking after Chelsea's FA Cup third round win over Morecambe on Sunday, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard said: "The situation with Fikayo is open about the moment. There is a possibility he could be going on loan to get games somewhere else.
"So that would have to be the solution for him and the club. That was part of my thinking of not starting him today."
09:05 - Slimani to have medical, Dembele heading to Atleti
Lyon are really close to an agreement with Leicester for striker Islam Slimani.
The Algeria international and Lyon have agreed on a six-month deal with an option to extend the contract at the end of the season.
Many French (Telefoot, L’Equipe) and foreign sources (Di Marzio) believe the transfer could be official very soon.
He will come in as a replacement for Moussa Dembélé, who looks set to be heading to La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid.
08:45 - Mbappe out, Messi and Aguero in at PSG?
PSG could be preparing to make very significant changes to their superstar personnel, according to a report in AS.
New boss Mauricio Pochettino apparently wants to sign both Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi to form a stunning Argentine strike force in Paris.
That would likely mean that the knock-on effect would be Kylian Mbappe departing the club, which would be music to Florentino Perez and Zinedine Zidane's ears over at Real Madrid.
AS reports that behind these striking moves is the backdrop of PSG 'presenting losses of more than 100 million euros'. Which doesn't really explain trying to sign Messi, but hey.
