Today, it was made official that Mauricio Pochettino has become the new PSG boss. But who will he now look to sign?

21:30 - Mourinho 'disappointed' in players

One interesting subplot to the latest drama at Tottenham is if it will change the way Jose Mourinho feels about some of his players. He's not afraid of selling stars he's lost patience with, of course.
Mourinho said he was 'disappointed' in Sergio Reguilon, Giovanni Lo Celso and Erik Lamela following the publication of a picture showing that the three players had spent Christmas together.
The three players - plus West Ham United's Manuel Lanzini - broke coronavirus regulations after the picture showed them celebrating with 11 other adults.
You can watch Mourinho giving his thoughts below...

20:45 - Koeman on Messi

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has given his latest thoughts on the uncertainly surrounding Lionel Messi's future at the Camp Nou - the endless saga.
"He said he doesn't want to make a decision yet and we have to respect that," Koeman said in a news conference.
"Like any player whose contract is expiring, he is free to decide as he chooses. I don't see any problem if he doesn't make a decision now.
"We must respect his decision and what he said in the interview. It doesn't generate any nerves or worries."

19:35 - Will United pay up?

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been speaking about how delighted he is with Manchester United's form, and it tees up the question: will they spend big this window?
Do United need to spend in order to take themselves over the top in their pursuit for the Premier League title?
One man that could be the answer is Jack Grealish, who would improve Solskjaer's side, according to Alex Netherton.

18:45 - Zidane quashes rumours

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has ended speculation that Luka Modric, Sergio Ramos and Lucas Vazquez may all leave the club in the summer.
"Yes, we all want [contracts to be signed]," Zidane said in his press conference.
"We want the situation to be sorted as quickly as possible. It is in everyone's interests, it would be good for everyone, so hopefully it can be sorted out quickly."

18:00 - 'Alaba could be imminent'

"Alaba could be imminent" is Marca's headline, saying Real Madrid are "best placed" to sign the defender and "want to close the deal as soon as possible."
Apparently a four-year, €10 million-a-season contract offer is being prepared, so no wonder he was keen to hit the market.
The 28-year-old's Bayern contract expires on June 30. Here's Marca's story.

17:30 - Euro Papers!

In today's Euro Papers, Real Madrid are after both Eduardo Camavinga and David Alaba as they look to improve their side.

17:00 - Palace join race for Schalke defender

Crystal Palace have joined the host of clubs looking at Ozan Kabak with the Selhurst Park club making an enquiry about the Schalke defender.
Dean Jones reported in his Inside Football column that Liverpool consider Kabak a potential target for the January transfer window and now the Dail Mail claims Palace are in the pursuit as well.
The Turkish defender is rated at £25m. Palace are hoping to offload James Tomkins and Mamadou Sakho to help fund a move for Kazan, whose form has been patchy this season with Schalke rooted to the foot of the Bundesliga.

16:45 - Barcia to sign Garcia this month?

Eric Garcia is widely expected to sign a pre-contract with Barcelona, but the Catalan club could try to sign the Manchester City defender this month if things unfold in a certain way.
Spanish outlet Sport (via Sport Witness) report the looming presidential election at the Camp Nou could influence whether or not Barcelona made an offer to City to sign Garcia in the January window.

Interim president Carles Tusquets would like to sanction a mid-season move for Garcia. While all the presidential candidates support the signing of the young defender, many would rather sign him as a free agent.
Garcia has long been tipped with a return to Barcelona, where he came through the youth system. Ronald Koeman's shift to a back three means the Catalans need greater options in central defence.

16:20 - Arsenal interested in Celtic midfielder

Odsonne Edouard has been mentioned as a potential Arsenal target more than once, but it's another Celtic player who is reportedly interesting the Gunners now.
, Ryan Christie is being monitored by Arsenal. The 25-year-old has become a key figure for both club and country in recent seasons and will be out of contract at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
A number of Premier League clubs including Brighton, Burnley, Leicester City, Newcastle United and Southampton are believed to be interested in Christie, with the player open to a move away from Celtic should an offer be accepted.
Arsenal desperately need a creative midfielder, but Christie is more of a goal threat than an assist-maker. Nonetheless, the Scotland international has reached new heights recently and could be ready to take the next step in his career.

16:00 - Camavinga to Real Madrid

Real Madrid are still hopeful of signing Luka Modric to a new contract, but regardless of whether the Croatian stays or leaves the Spanish champions are interested in Edouardo Camavinga.
The French teenager has been something of a sensation for Rennes this season and according to AS Real Madrid are lining up an offer for the summer.

Camavinga is seen as the next great midfielder in the game. He has already made his senior debut for France and has been linked with a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu for at least a year.
With Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Modric all getting on in age, it feels like Real Madrid would be missing out on something special should they allow Camavinga to move somewhere else. Zidane is believed to be a big fan.

15:35 - POCH TO PSG OFFICIAL!

There we go - Mauricio Pochettino has been confirmed Paris Saint-Germain's new manager following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel earlier in the week. He has signed a contract until the summer of 2022.
Pochettino has been out of work since leaving Tottenham Hotspur over a year ago and had been linked with a number of positions at clubs like Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid.
"As you know, this club has always kept a special place in my heart. I have wonderful memories of it, especially of the unique atmosphere of the Parc des Princes," Pochettino is quoted as saying, referencing his time as a player at the Parc des Princes.
"I come back to the Club today with a lot of ambition and humility, while also being very eager to work with some of the most talented players in the world.
"This team has fantastic potential and I will do everything with my staff to optimize the results of Paris Saint-Germain in all competitions. We will also do our utmost to give our team that combative and offensive playing identity that Parisian supporters have always loved."

15:15 - Atalanta boss wants Diallo to stay

Amad Diallo's transfer to Manchester United is all but a formality, at least on the basis of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's comments after the win over Aston Villa, but there is still some talk over when he will actually make the move.
Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini would like the teenage winger, who has recently broken into the first team, to stay at the Serie A club until the end of the season.
“Diallo is from United, but I’d like him to stay with us until June. Obviously it depends on his club," Gasperini has told Gianluca di Marzio.

14:30 - Poch at PSG!

It was widely reported that Mauricio Pochettino arrived in the French capital ahead of his appointment as Paris Saint-Germain's new manager and the Argentine is at the club's base today.
Pochettino could be announced by PSG as their new head coach as soon as this afternoon. The former Tottenham Hotspur boss has already been linked with a number of his old players.
Dean Jones initially reported Pochettino's interest in some of his former Tottenham Hotspur players in his , with Dele, Hugo Lloris, Serge Aurier and Harry Winks all on the Argentine's radar.

13:55 - Zorc on Brand to Arsenal rumours!

Julian Brandt is on Arsenal's radar this January, but Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has played down speculation linking the German international with a switch to North London.
"I've read that too, I can't say anything else on it," Zorc is quoted by
regarding the recent talk around Brandt's future at the Westfalenstadion.

13:30 - Bielsa asks for signing of Vazquez

Leeds United have reportedly made contact with Lucas Vazquez with a view to signing the Real Madrid winger as a free agent at the end of the season.
The 29-year-old will be out of contract this summer with the Real Madrid board still to make a decision on whether or not to offer Vazquez an extension.

Spanish outlet Todofijaches reports Leeds United have made contact with Vazquez now that the winger is free to talk to other clubs.
Marcelo Bielsa is believed to be a fan of Vazquez and has asked for the 29-year-old to be signed for the start of the 2021/22 season although Real Madrid could still make a new offer.

12:50 - Everton bid for La Liga goalkeeper

Everton have had some goalkeeping problems this season, with Jordan Pickford making a number of mistakes, and the Toffees are already on the trail of a new shot-stopper.
Spanish outlet Ideal claims Everton are getting ready to make a contract offer to Rui Silva with the Granada goalkeeper out of contract at the end of the 2020/21 season.
Silva has become a shining star in La Liga, helping Granada to qualify for the Europa League last season. A number of clubs have been linked with the 26-year-old, but Everton are believed to be leading the pursuit.
While recruitment has been good at Goodison Park recently, it could certainly be argued they need a new goalkeeper. Pickford might be England number one, but he consistently makes mistakes. Silva would be an upgrade.

12:35 - Zinchenko on Lazio's radar

Lazio are reportedly in the market for a new left back this January and one name has emerged as a potential target - Manchester City's Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Corriere dello Sport claims the €20m-rated defender, who has made just six appearances for City this season, could be on his way to Serie A with a loan a potential option.
A loan deal for Zinchenko would likely included an option to buy the player. Other names on Lazio's shortlist include Lille's Domagoj Bradaric.

12:10 - Saliba's January escape route

The situation concerning William Saliba at Arsenal is a peculiar one with the young defender currently exiled from the first team squad at the Emirates Stadium.
L'Equipe (via Sport Witness) report 'all options are open' for Saliba with the January transfer window now open. The youngster is keen to play and having been left out of Arsenal's Premier League squad that doesn't look likely at his current club.
Clubs in England, France, Germany and Netherlands have all been mentioned as potential suitors for Saliba, but it's Nice who are identified primarily by L'Equipe as a club who could move for the Frenchman.
Saliba was highly rated at Saint-Etienne, forming a strong partnership with Wesley Fofana who has gone on to flourish at Leicester City this season. Arsenal's decision to overlook the young prospect continues to baffle.

11:45 - Gray to France or Portugal?

Demarai Gray is out of contract at Leicester City at the end of the season, but the 24-year-old has a couple of intriguing options in front of him.
The Sun reported yesterday that Benfica and Marseille are both interested in the Leicester City wide man and the latter's interest has been confirmed by France Football today.

Gray has long been tipped as a star of the future, but he has fallen down the pecking order at the King Power Stadium this season and looks set to depart at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
Leicester City have still to decide whether they intend to secure a transfer fee for the player by selling him in January or keep him until the end of the season when they will lose the 24-year-old on a free.

11:25 - Real Madrid's Ramos concerns

One of the biggest stories in Spanish football right now concerns the futures of both Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos with both Real Madrid stalwarts out of contract at the end of the season.
There have been suggestions recently that discussions with Modric are progressing well, but AS reports there are greater obstacles with regards to talks over an extension for Ramos.
Discussions have been complicated by Real Madrid's plans to cut costs after being hit badly by the Covid-19 pandemic. Ramos is free to talk to other clubs, but talks are continuing with Real Madrid.

11:10 - Mourinho on January plans

Tottenham Hotspur were busy in the summer window, making no fewer than eight new additions to their squad, but Jose Mourinho is expecting January to be a lot quieter.
"I'm not expecting, no," he said when asked whether there would be any new signings made this month. "Times are not easy. the club made a big effort in the summer to try and build a good squad.

Jose Mourinho: January signings would be a ‘big surprise’

"Honestly, if something good happened to us, it would be a big surprise for me. I don't feel the right to ask for something."

10:50 - New Toffees deal for Sigurdsson?

Everton are enjoying a successful season, despite yesterday's home defeat to West Ham, and Gylfi Sigurdsson could be in line for a new contract as a reward.
The Daily Mail reports the Goodison Park outfit are considering whether to offer the Icelandic international a new deal after playing his way back into Carlo Ancelotti's plans.
"I've enjoyed working with the manager a lot," the playmaker said about Ancelotti recently. "Man-to-man, he's fantastic, dealing with different kinds of situations. He is very calm, probably because he has seen it all before and knows exactly what to do. He's just a great person to be around."

10:30 - Alaba to Real Madrid gets real

The future of David Alaba has been the subject of much speculation of late, but there might finally be some concrete news on the horizon.
Marca reports Real Madrid have made a firm contract offer to the Austrian defender amid interest from Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.
It's believed Real Madrid's efforts to sign Alaba, who is out of contract at Bayern Munich at the end of the 2020/21 season, will accelerate in the coming days. The contract on the table is a four-year deal worth €10m-a-year.
Fabrizio Romano claims Alaba's dream move is to the Spanish capital, but he still has a number of options in front of him.

10:15 - Another option for Eriksen

As already mentioned, a move to Paris Saint-Germain could be an option for Eriksen, but there may be another escape route open to him.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports Valencia are interested in signing Eriksen in the January transfer window in what would most likely be a short-term loan agreement until the end of the season.

Inter would almost certainly have to take on the majority of Eriksen's wages with Valencia currently in a bad way, financially.
The Spanish club was forced to sell off most of their best players over the summer window, with Rodrigo Moreno, Ferran Torres, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Francis Coquelin and Dani Parejo all departing the Mestalla.
Javi Gracia's side are currently facing a fight against relegation in La Liga. Eriksen would boost their chances of survival, but there are more feasible options for the Dane this month.

09:50 - Poch to raid Spurs?

Mauricio Pochettino arrived in the French capital yesterday ahead of his expected appointment as Paris Saint-Germain's new manager and the Argentine is already been linked with a raid on his former club.
Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen are two players linked with a move to the Parc des Princes (as per AS), with the former currently out of favour at Tottenham Hotspur.
Indeed, Dele has struggled to make a good impression on Jose Mourinho this season and therefore could find the prospect of a fresh start under Pochettino, who got the best out of him in North London, appealing.
Eriksen is another player whose career has taken a nose dive recently. The Dane is way down the pecking order at Inter, but Pochettino might fancy his chances of restoring Eriksen as one of Europe's best playmakers.
Dean Jones initially reported Pochettino's interest in some of his former Tottenham Hotspur players in his Inside Football column, with Dele, Hugo Lloris, Serge Aurier and Harry Winks all on the Argentine's radar.

09:25 - United still confident on Sancho

It was the saga of the summer that amounted to very little in the end, but we might not have heard the last of the speculation linking Manchester United with a move for Jadon Sancho.
the Old Trafford club now believes their strategy in refusing to pay Borussia Dortmund's hefty asking price of £107m for the England winger during the summer will pay off.
picture

United think they will be able to sign Sancho for much less next summer. The 20-year-old's form has dipped significantly this season and so Dortmund may accept less than £100m for the player at the end of the campaign.
It's reported Manchester United aren't concerned by this dip in form and still see Sancho as a key part of their long-term future. The Red Devils might not be the only team interested in the Englishman, though.
