12:50 - LA Galaxy pick up former West Brom keeper Bond

This is an interesting one. The LA Times report that the LA Galaxy have brought in West Bromwich keeper Jonathan Bond.
Bond has bounced around different clubs in England but represents a smart pick up for the Galaxy because he holds an American passport so won't take up an international slot.
He will compete with Jonathan Klinsmann, son of former USA boss Jurgen, for the starting spot.

12:38 - Jovic loan has no option to buy

Bild exclusively report that the loan for Luka Jovic to return to Frankfurt will have no option to buy in it.
That means one of two things. Either Real still believe Jovic has a future with them or they believe that he will perform so well they can demand a fee out of Frankfurt's price range.

12:25 - Slimani paves wave for Dembele to Atletico

Everyone's favourite transfer guru Fabrizio Romano is saying that Islam Slimani has completed his medical with Lyon.

11:30 - Liverpool cool interest in Alaba

Earlier we mentioned Liverpool as one of the clubs who are interested in Bayern defender David Alaba but The Independent report that the Reds aren't as strongly pursuing him.
There are two reasons for this, one is that they expect him to pick Real Madrid over the others and the second is that they don't think he's good enough aerially.
The first argument makes sense but the second seems a little weak, even if Alaba isn't the biggest he's still a world-class central defender.

11:19 - Lazio are getting a new left-back

It sounds as if Lazio are close to getting a new left-back. Talented young 20-year-old left-back Dimitrije Kamenovic is reportedly close to agreeing a deal.

The fee will be around €3 million and it should be a four-year contract.

11:06 - Fosu-Mensah agrees Leverkusen contract

It sounds as if Timothy Fosu-Mensah is close to moving to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen as he has agreed a contract according to the Mail.
Fosu-Mensah has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United and will now move on to get more regular football.
This is a really interesting move, Fosu-Mensah always had the talent he just never always got a consistent chance. I wonder whether United will regret this one.

10:54 - Valencia chasing Roca and Winks

According to a report from Spanish outlet AS Valencia are still chasing a new midfielder to come in on loan during the transfer window.
The two players who are linked are Marc Roca of Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Wink, with the latter being the priority.
However signing either player might be hard. Roca reportedly wants to stay and fight for his place at Bayern whilst Spurs are reluctant to see Winks leave.

10:41 - Rennes starlet to leave

According to Goal France Stade Rennais starlet Georginio Rutter will be leaving the French club and won't be extending his contract.

It will be interesting to see whether or not this serves as a stepping stone for Rutter or if this ends up being a step too far for the youngster.

10:29 - RB Leipzig might lose Sabitzer and Forsberg on free transfers

It's more free transfer news! And it's another report from SportBild who report that RB Leipzig could lose two fo their best players.
Marcel Sabitzer (26) and Emil Forsberg (29) are both now in the final 18 months of their contracts, which would normally cause Leipzig to sell in order to gain some financial compensation.
However because of the falling transfer fees due to the pandemic Leipzig might let them run down the contract and keep their stars for an extra year.

10:15 - Julian Nagelsmann on Chelsea shortlist

There's another update for you on the Chelsea managerial process in case they decide to fire Frank Lampard.
Christian Falk reports that RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann is a manager to add to the shortlist. That goes along with Thomas Tuchel, Max Allegri, Brendan Rodgers and Ralph Hasenhuttl.
It certainly seems as if Chelsea are considering their options given the amount of rumours that are coming out in the press and if I was Lampard I'd be a bit worried.

10:00 - Inside Football is here!

Dean Jones is here with his latest Inside Football column!
Today's edition focuses on AC Milan. The Italian giants wanted to sign Luka Jovic but as we mentioned earlier the forward is moving back to Germany.

09:47 - Bayern prepare for Alaba departure as Austrian chased by six clubs

Speaking of players leaving on a free transfer we know that David Alaba will be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season in search of a new challenge.
According to a report from SportBild there are six clubs chasing Alaba. They are PSG, Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United. Not a bad list to be choosing from.
In other news Bayern are now entering the race for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano.

09:34 - Barcelona edge closer to Eric Garcia signing

Hey it's some double Barca action here. In fact it's double "Barca signing a Man City player on a free transfer."
This one looks a little more likely as Mundo Deportivo report that the Catalan side are close to being able to sign defender Eric Garcia, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
In fact in order to get the deal through and get Garcia in Barcelona during this window Barca will pay City a small fee of €10 million (€5m fixed and €5m in variables).

09:21 - Barcelona join race for Sergio Aguero

Sergio Aguero is entering the final six months of his contract and no new deal is on the horizon at Manchester City as they weigh up what to do in their striking department.
Initially it was believed at this stage of his career Aguero would return to boyhood club Independiente in Argentina but it sounds as if big European clubs are going to try and change his mind with a big pay-day.
French champions PSG have been linked (and we'll have more on that very soon) but according to The Sun Spanish giants Barcelona will also move to try and bring the forward in.

09:10 - Luka Jovic return to Frankfurt imminent.

It would probably be safe to say that Luka Jovic's big move to Real Madrid hasn't worked out. As ridiculous as it sounds there was a time when Jovic was one of the most feared strikers in Europe as he plundered goal after goal with Eintracht Frankfurt.
However now it sounds as if Real are prepared to let him leave, on a short-term basis at least, so he can try and regain his confidence. He's going to be going back on loan to Frankfurt according to Marca who cite Serbian outlet Republika.
I feel a bit for Jovic, and even Real to an extent. The plan here was clear but Karim Benzema, at the age of 33, is playing better than anyone expected. Jovic needs game time badly so he can try and convince Real to not try and sign the aforementioned Haaland, or from Real's perspective to drive up the price if they decide to sell him.

09:00 - Good morning everyone

Thanks for that Tom, nice of you to kick us off with an absolute doozy. I tell you what Haaland moving to Barcelona would be an absolute stunner. Firstly I'm pretty confident that they have no money whatsoever. Secondly I'm pretty confident that whatever money they had has been spent on players like Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann.
We've got some cracking transfer lines coming up in the very near future so make sure you've comfortable and why not take a read of today's Paper Round while I get everything in order.

08:45 - Barca in pole position to sign Haaland

Pete Sharland will be with you shortly, but just to kick things off... Literally every big club in football wants Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland but according to reports on Wednesday morning, it is Barcelona who currently have the edge. Spanish TV show OnzeTv3 are reporting that Haaland will leave Dortmund in the summer and that Barcelona have the advantage in the race to sign him.
Why? Because superagent Mino Raiola is apparently keen to get his client to the Camp Nou, which could well be a decisive factor given the influence he enjoys. Haaland is under contract until 2024 and, as previously reported in Inside Football, Manchester City were seen as the most likely club to make a first move to sign him in 2021.
