Mason Mount does not look likely to extend his contract at Chelsea which may faciliate a cut-price transfer to Liverpool, while Harry Maguire will not be sold by Manchester United, who could soon receive a huge takeover offer from a Qatari group of investors. Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain could see their forward line of strikers broken up this summer.

Mount set to leave Chelsea
With a contract that has little over a year remaining, Chelsea are giving up hopes that their England international midfielder Mason Mount will agree to sign fresh terms to stay at Stamford Bridge.
That will give Liverpool hope of landing the player for a cut-price fee.
The Sun reports: “There has been no breakthrough with regards to contract negotiations.
“It is understood the London club will be forced to "make a decision" in the summer if they cannot pen new terms.
“Some bosses at Stamford Bridge are said to be "resigned" to him not committing to the Chelsea project moving forward.”
Maguire to stay at United
After being linked with a January move away from Old Trafford, Harry Maguire ultimately stay at Manchester United, and while it may seem that he is on the fringes of the squad under Erik ten Hag, the Dutch manager has no intention of seeing him leave.
The Mirror says: “Maguire, an £85 million signing from Leicester in August 2019, has made just eight starts for the Reds this season. But he kept his place in England’s World Cup squad despite his problems at Old Trafford - and was outstanding for the Three Lions.
“And Ten Hag is refusing to write him off for United, saying: “I’m really happy with Harry Maguire.
“I think he’s progressing really well and in the games he is playing, he is doing really well. But we have big competition. Harry is right-footed - a big competitor with Rapha Varane, who is also a brilliant player.
“But that is what we need if we want to restore Manchester United - we need top players but also double the players in every position because we want to play in so many leagues and so many competitions.”
Qataris given go-ahead for Man Utd bid
There had been speculation that a Qatari bid for Manchester United would be blocked at the first stage due to concerns of control from the same group of investors, but the Mail believes that UEFA are content to let a bid go ahead.
That might get the Glazer family a higher bid than from another consortium.
“UEFA seem set to give Qatar the green light to take over Manchester United despite the apparent conflict of interest it could cause in the Champions League, given that Qatar Sports Investments owns Paris Saint-Germain,” the paper states.
“With initial bids for United due into the Raine Group, the bank running the auction, this week, a group of Qatari investors are understood to be ready to register their interest in taking over United.
“The only public bidder so far is British petro-chemicals billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, who has enlisted Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase in pursing his potential takeover.
“But the Qatari bid, which is understood to be being encouraged by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, seems more likely to get close to the £5bn price the Glazer siblings might accept for the club.”
PSG could lose one of their famous trio
Paris Saint-Germain face off with Bayern Munich in the knockout stages of the Champions League, and Spanish newspaper Marca believes that defeat could see one of Neymar, Lionel Messi or Kylian Mbappe quit the Parc des Princes.
The paper reports: “This project with Messi, Neymar and Mbappe is designed to take the Champions League by storm. For the moment, Messi has not responded to the renewal offer he has from PSG, while Mbappe renewed precisely to try to win the ultimate continental trophy. Neymar, meanwhile, has a contract until 2025, but has also been heavily criticized in the French press for underperforming.
“After recent results, the PSG project has been called into question and another failure could be the final straw for a trident that faces its second season with the need to be the kings of Europe, as for Galtier and his team, winning the French league is not enough of a prize. That is why everything will depend on what happens against Bayern, who want to take advantage of the French side's poor form.”
