Transfer Deadline Day recap - Tottenham secure Mathys Tel loan with buy option, Axel Disasi set for Aston Villa move

It was a chaotic last hour or so, with deals being wrapped up across the continent - but that is just about it for another January transfer window.

It has been an exciting transfer window with plenty of additions across the elite leagues.

Manchester City were forced into transfer action to combat their injury-hit squad. Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Nico Gonzalez all arrived in a bid to try and save the Premier League champions' season.

Manchester United, meanwhile, secured the services of left-back Patrick Dorgu, rectifying a long-standing issue in that position.

Aston Villa have been heavily involved in the January market, especially in the latter stages of the window, signing Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio, while Axel Disasi is on the way.

And how about Tottenham's last-gasp capture of Mathys Tel? The addition of a buy option is absolutely huge for someone of Tel's potential, and a big boost to Spurs given their current standing in the Premier League.

Mathis Amougou is still set to join Chelsea, though there is little to come out of the club regarding incomings and outgoings this evening - presumably given their Premier League match against West Ham.

Tyrell Malacia is set to depart Manchester United for PSV Eindhoven, but that one has yet to be announced.

Charly Alcaraz will still sign for Everton, it seems, with the deal sheet submitted before 11PM, allowing the clubs to thrash out the final details.

Axel Disasi is set to join Villa on loan from Chelsea after snubbing Spurs, while Joao Felix is also departing Stamford Bridge on loan, heading to AC Milan.

It seems as though Joao Felix's loan to AC Milan from Chelsea will be made official tomorrow.

Perhaps not an all-timer of a January transfer deadline day, but certainly some big deals in the Premier League to keep us going throughout.

Everton will gain extra time to secure the signing of Charly Alcaraz, with the deal sheet for the Flamengo midfielder submitted by the 11PM deadline.

Warren Bondo has joined the Serie A club from Monza, on a contract until the summer of 2029.

Milan also announced the departures of Ismael Bennacer and Noah Okafor, to Marseille and Napoli respectively.

Ben Chilwell's Chelsea exit is finally confirmed as he heads to Selhurst Park for the remainder of the season.

The left-back was struggling for game time under Enzo Maresca, but now has the chance to start afresh with a Palace side on the rise.

As anticipated, confirmation that Mathys Tel has signed for Tottenham.

It has been one of the stories of the January transfer window, with the 19-year-old initially rejecting a move to north London, before U-turning on the decision, and now Spurs have an option to make the deal permanent in the summer.

Looks like we'll be waiting on confirmation for Axel Disasi's move to Aston Villa, but all looks to be in place for the defender to move on loan.

Upon his move to the Premier League, Nico Gonzalez said: "This is the perfect opportunity for me at this stage of my career.

Could we see Jeffrey Schlupp in UEFA Champions League action? Celtic can register up to three players for their knockout phase play-off fixtures against Bayern Munich.

And Nico Gonzalez is officially a Manchester City player, the club confirmed at 11PM on the dot.

The midfielder joins the Premier League champions on a deal until 2029, and will look to fill the void left by Rodri - who is continuing his recovery from an ACL injury.

City splashed a reported £49.9m for the acquisition of the midfielder.

And still no confirmation of the big deals we are waiting for.

All eyes on the deadline, and the inevitable swathe of announcements which will be made shortly afterwards.

The forward has netted 11 goals in 29 appearances for Middlesbrough this season, and the club have already moved to bring in a replacement with the acquisition of Kelechi Iheanacho announced earlier today.

Eli Junior Kroupi will link up with Andoni Iraola's side in the summer, after spending the remainder of the season in Ligue 2.

The Premier League high-flyers look set to swipe Joel Ndala away from PSV on loan from Manchester City.

Ndala has appeared for PSV's youth side this season, but is set to link up with Nuno Espirito following their 7-0 win over Brighton on Saturday.

Straight off the back of their 2-1 comeback victory over West Ham, Chelsea get the additional boost of landing the signing of Mathis Amougou from St Etienne.

He will provide some depth in midfield behind Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
