Marco Asensio has joined Aston Villa on loan from Paris Saint-Germain for the remainder of the season.
The 29-year-old joined PSG from Real Madrid in 2023, having netted 61 goals in 286 appearances for the Spanish giants.
Asensio made 47 appearances for PSG and helped the club to the Ligue 1 title last term. However, he has fallen out of favour with Luis Enrique this season and only played 18 minutes since the end of November.
Villa have already signed Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund and Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United, but were in the market for another attacker after parting ways with Jhon Duran and Emiliano Buendia.
Asensio's loan move hinged on Cher Ndour's sale to Fiorentina, as PSG had already reached their quota of how many over-21 players they could send on loan.
Ndour's permanent move to the Serie A club on Monday paved the way for Asensio's switch.
The 38-cap Spain international could make his debut for Villa at home against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup on Sunday or when the club host Ipswich Town in the Premier League the following weekend.
Aston Villa boss Unai Emery said his side needed "new players" before Monday's deadline following a 2-0 defeat at Wolves on Saturday which left the club eighth in the Premier League.
Emery's men finished in the top eight of the new UEFA Champions League group stage to qualify for the last 16.
