The jeers and whistle ring around the stadium at the full time whistle. This isn't what the Albanian fans wanted, but what a result for McLeish and Scotland! That's the win they needed and now they must beat Israel if they are to finish top of their Nations League group. What a win and performance.

- End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Albania 0-4 Scotland
Next up for Scotland is that crunch match against Israel at Hampden Park on Tuesday night. Another win is required for Scotland to finish top of their Nations League group.
The tempo and intensity has completely dropped out of this game in the past few minutes. That's hardly surprising. This match has been over as a contest for a long time.
Just three minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the match.
McGregor is another player who has turned up for Scotland this evening. All in all, this has been an impressive performance from the Dark Blues on a night they needed a win.
- Yellow cardEros GrezdaAlbania
Grezda enters the book after a late tackle on McTominay. He's frustrated. Albania's best player tonight.
Ole! Ole! Ole! The travelling Scotland fans are now enjoying themselves as their team see this game out with aplomb. They are in complete control. This has been comprehensive.
Christie, Forrest and Fraser have all been exceptional for Scotland tonight, with all three players in great form for their clubs. That has been demanded of Scotland teams for years - play the in-form players!
Scotland are now toying with their opponents, spraying the passes around the centre of the pitch. They could still add a couple to the scoreline, though. Forrest wants another.
This could be the end for Panucci as the Albania national team manager. The former Italian international was already under pressure before this game, which has been a disaster.
- Yellow cardJohnny RussellScotland
The official record has it that Phillips was booked, but it looked like Russell.
What a cross! Robertson sends a bending delivery to the back post for Phillips to get on the end of, he manages to get a shot on target, but the shot is blocked at the near post.
McTominay should score! That should have been a fifth goal for Scotland. The cut back found McTominay, via a dummy from Christie, but his shot clips the top of the crossbar.
One concern for Scotland at this late stage of the game, with the points already secured, is staying clear of any injuries or suspensions. They need a full squad for the Israel game.
As already mentioned, Fraser was exceptional for Scotland. It's remarkable that he only has five caps for his country, but now McLeish is trying to build his team around the midfielder.
This will set up Scotland nicely for the home game against Israel at Hampden Park. Win that game and the Dark Blues will top their Nations League group and enter the play-off system.
- OffRyan FraserScotland
- OnJohnny RussellScotland
Fraser comes off to be replaced by Russell. Fraser has maybe been Scotland's best player.
Uzuni put McGregor under pressure as the Scotland goalkeeper goes up to gather a high ball. The freekick eventually goes McGregor's way, but he got a little lucky with that.
- OffSteven FletcherScotland
- OnMatthew PhillipsScotland
Phillips comes on for the final 20 minutes with the game already won for Scotland.
McLeish needed a positive result and performance this evening, and my goodness, he has got it. Scotland have been exceptional, with Christie, Forrest and Fraser all in great form.
This is becoming a rout. Albania have been poor from the very first whistle and in retrospect the sending off was the moment that this game was really finished as a contest.
- GoalJames ForrestScotland
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Albania 0 Scotland 4 (67 mins - James Forrest). What a goal! Sensational from Scotland. They are four goals up! Fraser's cut back finds Forrest, the dinked touch sets him up for the volley and the Celtic winger smashes the shot into the back of the net. That's the pick of the bunch.
- Yellow cardDavid BatesScotland
Bates joins McKenna in the book for dragging down Xhaka outside the box.
GOOOOOOOOOO... NO! Scotland think they have scored a fourth, with Forrest bending an outside of the boot finish into the back of the net. But Bates, who got a touch to it, was offside.
- OffRey ManajAlbania
- OnBekim BalajAlbania
One final change for Albania, but it's irrelevant at this point. The game is gone for them.
- OffStuart ArmstrongScotland
- OnScott McTominayScotland
On comes McTominay. He hasn't seen much action for Man Utd this season, but here's a chance for Scotland.
Armstrong on target! The Albanian defence backs off and backs off, with Armstrong getting the drive away on goal, but Berisha makes the save to keep the midfield from making it four.
- Yellow cardScott McKennaScotland
McKenna enters the book. The Scotland defence was too strong in an aerial challenge.
Grezda drags wide! Albania muster a decent response to falling thee goals behind, with Grezda getting the shot away from inside the box. He drags it wide of the near post, though.
That was actually Forrest's first ever goal for Scotland. He has become a key figure for Celtic over the past two seasons, but that's the first time that he has hit the back of the net for his country.
This is better than Scotland could have realistically hoped for. This will be a huge three points for them, setting them up for the crucial game against Israel next week. A lot on the line.
- GoalJames ForrestScotland
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Albania 0 Scotland 3 (55 mins - James Forrest). It's three for Scotland! That is surely the win, and the points, in the bag for the Dark Blues! Forrest has the pace to get in behind following a pass from Christie and the Celtic winger squeezes the shot past Berisha and into the net!
- OffBerat DjimsitiAlbania
- OnKastriot DermakuAlbania
A change for Albania and Xhimshiti comes off to be replaced by Dermaku. Might have been an injury.
The cameras show McLeish plotting on the bench with his assistants Grant and McFadden. Are they planning on making a change to the Scotland team? Who would come on?
Uzuni wide! The Albania attacker nicks the ball off Robertson and gets the shot away on goal. McGregor was concerned, but the ball flashes wide of the near post. Not far away.
Keep in mind that Scotland's squad was decimated by injuries this week and this result, as it currently stands, looks all the more impressive. They are missing a number of key players.
Albania looked like a team without a plan in the first plan. They have had a chance to regroup at the half time interval, so will we see a different side in this second 45 minutes?
If Albania are going to find a way back into the match, you'd think that Grezda will be key. The Rangers winger has been their best player and has had the beating of Paterson.
That second goal for Scotland right at the end of the first half really puts them in charge. They can't allow Albania a way back into the game from this commanding position.
- 2nd Half
The second half is under way! Scotland are two goals, and a man, to the good against Albania.
What did you make of the first half? Is there any way that Scotland can throw this away? Is there any way back for Albania? Should McLeish be worried about Paterson? Tweet me!
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Albania 0-2 Scotland. What an encouraging half for McLeish and his players. Scotland are two goals up and also have a man advantage. They are cruising at this point.
- Goal by penaltySteven FletcherScotland
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Albania 0 Scotland 2 (46 mins - Steven Fletcher pen). It's Fletcher who steps up to the penalty spot and sends Berisha in the Albania goal the wrong way with a confident conversion, finding the right-hand corner of the net. Scotland are two goals to the good at the interval!
PENALTY KICK TO SCOTLAND! Armstrong's freekick hits the wall and the referee spots a handball.
Scotland didn't make the most of that opportunity. Fletcher was free at the back post, but Fraser slipped as he was playing his pass and the ball drifts behind for a goal kick.
Paterson is having a really tough time against Grezda down the wing. The Rangers man has the beating of him and the Scotland right back is already playing with a yellow to his name.
Fraser takes it on! The Bournemouth midfielder drives through the centre of the pitch to the edge of the Albanian box, but his shot is straight at Berisha who can make the save.
Was that a dive? Grezda goes down under the challenge of Paterson, but no foul is awarded and the replays show that the Albania winger went down far too easily. No contact.
Albania are just starting to get a grip of things again after the shock of losing a goal and their captain. That will concern McLeish, whose Scotland team need to make their advantage count.
Across the face! Good play from Forrest, who turns his man inside the box and gets the shot away. It flashes across the face and Fletcher wasn't alert enough at the back post.
This is an opportunity for Christie to really make his mark for Scotland. He has become a key figure for Celtic in recent weeks and now he can do the same for the national team.
Christie skews his shot wide! That was a chance for the Celtic man, with Armstrong doing well to move the ball out to him. But from 20 yards out he gets his shot all wrong. Goes wide.
Chance for Albania! Grezda goes past Paterson with ease and gets a low cross into the box. Manaj turns and tries to get the shot away, but McKenna does enough to block.
It's interesting to see Paterson out in the right wing back position for Scotland. He's being used there before McLeish doesn't have anyone else, but he's being playing as a striker for Cardiff this season.
Albania look like a team without a plan at the moment and that's something Scotland must make the most of before the half time break, when the home side will have a chance to regroup.
That was a pretty poor cross from Paterson. He had space out on the right wing and was trying to get the ball in early, but it was far too close to Berisha in the Albanian goal.
- OffErgys KaçeAlbania
- OnArdian IsmajliAlbania
Albania make a change in response to the sending off of Mavraj and Ismajli comes on.
It's not just McLeish was under pressure ahead of this match, it was Panucci too. It's not going to plan for the Albania manager. It's a long way back from this for the home side.
This game has swung in the favour of Scotland in the last five minutes or so. Surely they can't allow this lead to slip now? Surely they will find at least one more goal to secure the points.
Okay, so here's what happened... Mavraj was booked for a tackle on Christie. But then the assistant spotted a headbutt, so he was shown a second yellow card, which equalled a red. That was confusing.
- Red cardMërgim MavrajAlbania
SENT OFF! Well, after much confusion Mavraj has now exited the pitch after being shown a second yellow card and Albania are now down to 10 men. Bad to worse for the hosts.
Bit of confusion here. The referee appeared to flash a yellow card at Mavraj, but has he changed his mind? Has he been sent off? Nobody is really sure what's happening. Strange.
Just a reminder that tonight's game could see Scotland avoid relegation from their Nations League group if they win. But they have their eyes on actually topping the group.
It's remarkable given the level he's playing at that Fraser only had five caps for Scotland. Surely he should be a fixture in the national team by now. What an excellent little player.
Manaj gets the shot away! The Albanian number 10 drifted off McKenna to find the space to gather the pass and turn, but he drags his effort wide of the target. He had space.
That was a waste from Albania. They had the chance to get a cross into the Scotland box from a freekick, but the delivery was way too strong and McGregor watches it fly over.
He's been in excellent form for Bournemouth this season and now Fraser has made his mark for Scotland in this match. What an excellent goal that was from the former Aberdeen midfielder.
- GoalRyan FraserScotland
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Albania 0 Scotland 1 (14 mins - Ryan Fraser). Such a huge goal for Scotland and it's Fraser who has grabbed it! What a cool finish from the Bournemouth man. He burst into the Albania box after Christie won the ball high up the pitch and finds the far corner of the net with a curling right-footed effort.
- Yellow cardRey ManajAlbania
Manaj enters the book now for a pretty nasty and high tackle on Fraser. That was a bad one.
Albania go close! Not far away from the opening goal. Memushaj's cross to the back post was a wicked one, but Uzuni just couldn't stretch far enough to direct on goal. It flashes past the far post.
- Yellow cardCallum PatersonScotland
First booking of the night goes to Paterson for a foul on Grezda. No complaints about that.
Grezda already looks to be sharp for Albania. Of course, he's someone that Scottish football fans know. He scored twice for Rangers against Motherwell in his last outing last weekend. In form.
Scotland started well, but Albania have taken a grip of things in the last few minutes and it's the hosts who are controlling the majority of possession. Scotland having to sit back.
So as I mentioned in the build up to kick off, Bates has been handed his Scotland debut tonight alongside McKenna at the heart of the defence. How will he fare? He needs to perform.
Grezda offside! Scotland hold a decent defensive line and Grezda drifts beyond it when the pass is played in behind. The Rangers winger will be one of the dangermen for Albania.
Albania were less than impressive in the game against Scotland at Hampden Park a couple months ago. Will they be better this evening? They too need a good result from this.
Scotland are on the front foot right from the start. They are zipping the passes around the edge of the opposition penalty area, but the eventual shot is blocked in the end.
Early opportunity! A slip at the back allowed Fraser a chance to drive into the Albanian box. But his square pass into Fletcher was cut out. He might have taken more time and care!
- 1st Half
The match is under way! It's Albania against Scotland in this crucial Nations League clash.
Okay, here we go. Just seconds until kick off. This is a big one for both countries.
Sorry, can't tell you what Albania's anthem is about. Sounded rousing, though.
National anthem time. Scotland, as the away side, go first. Time to sing about that new Neflix film with Chris Pine, Outlaw King. That's what Flower of Scotland is about, right?
The two teams are in the tunnel, waiting to walk out at the Loro Borici stadium.
I'm Graham Ruthven and you can catch me on Twitter ahead of the game to let me know your thoughts. How big a game is this for Scotland? What do you make of the lineup? Tweet me!
Under pressure! McLeish has been a manager under fire since the last international break, when Scotland suffered a dismal defeat to Israel. He really needs a positive result in Albania.
Head to head! Scotland come into this game having already beaten Albania in the reverse fixture back in September. They need to repeat that performance and result tonight.
Debut! Scotland's squad has been decimated by injuries this past week and that has meant a call up for Bates, who starts his first ever Scotland game this evening. No pressure.
