The referee has now also headed inside, leaving just the Brazilian players out on the pitch. This could take a while to sort out. It looks like Brazilian health officials are out there.

Play has been suspended for now. Argentina's players have left the pitch.

Play has stopped to allow the referee to try to sort out this fracas.

All eyes on the touchline here as a member of the media appears to have been escorted down the tunnel. A rather unnecessary distraction. That draws players from both sides to close to the technical area, and there is some kind of disagreement ongoing.

There were plenty of smiles, handshakes and hugs exchanged between the players before kick-off, but there's been no holding back in the tackles in the early stages. The number of fouls is preventing either side from getting into any kind of rhythm.

Of those 59 games, Brazil have won 47. Unbelievable.

Brazil haven't lost in 59 home World Cup qualifying matches, which is quite a record I'm sure you would agree. But they face a stern test today.

“This is the qualifiers, we’re doing well, we’re coming off the back of another win. Obviously we’re sad about the loss in the Copa America but this is a new moment,” Brazil forward Gabriel Barbosa told reporters ahead of the game. "We need to play well, enjoy ourselves and deserve the win.”

Leaders Brazil remain perfect with seven wins from seven in World Cup qualification after their 1-0 win over Chile on Friday. Second-placed Argentina brushed aside 10-man Venezuela 3-1 to keep the Selecao in the sights, but they remain six points behind their great rivals.

Argentina, you will have noticed, have been given permission to include Premier League players - Cristian Romero, Giovani Lo Celso and Emiliano Martinez - in their starting XI. Emi Buendia starts on the bench.

We're still awaiting the official Argentina team but reports suggest they will start with the same XI that defeated Brazil. That would be: Martinez, Montiel, Romero, Otamendi, Acuna, Di Maria, Paredes, De Paul, Lo Celso, Messi, Martinez.

As you may have noticed, Brazil are without any of their Premier League stars due to Covid-19 rules. That means the likes of Alisson, Roberto Firminho and Gabriel Jesus all miss out. Needless to say it's a much-changed side from the one that lost the final to Argentina. Weverton takes the gloves in front of a back four of Danilo, Alex Sandro, Verissimo and Militao. Casemiro and Gerson are the holding midfielders. Gabi and Neymar lead the attack, flanked by Everton Ribeiro and Lucas Paqueta.
