OFF THE LINE! Unbelievable! Serbia clear the ball off the line!! First Ronaldo's finish is slid off by Mitrovic! Ronaldo is then booked for his protests! There is no VAR here and it looked very, very close. Did it go over the line? It must have been centimetres! Ronaldo is fuming and throws his armband down in disgust and storms down the tunnel.
RED CARD! Late drama here as Milenkovic is shown a straight red for a crunching challenge on Danilo. It was a poor sliding challenge but a straight red seems harsh. Serbia down to 10!
SUB! Palhinha is on for Fernandes.
THREE minutes of added time.
Portugal look to be out of ideas while Serbia are happy to soak it up. Will someone find a last-gasp winner? It's hard to see it right now.
- OffAleksandar MitrovicSerbia
- OnLuka JovicSerbia
SUB! It's a change of Serbia strikers. Mitrovic comes off for Jovic.
- OffDiogo JotaPortugal
- OnJoão FélixPortugal
YELLOW! For Mitrovic for bundling Fernandes over. SUB! Portugal are bringing on some fresh firepower. Felix is on for Jota.
Portugal have had a lot of the ball in these last few minutes and they look the more likely to score a winner. Serbia are very compact now.
- OffDušan TadicSerbia
- OnFilip DjuricicSerbia
Fernandes attempts an audacious shot from range but Pavlovic bravely blocks the powerful strike. SUB! Tadic comes off, handing the captain's armband to Mitrovic, for Djuricic.
Milenkovic gives away a poor foul on Jota to hand Portugal a good chance to swing the ball into the box. The Liverpool forward was not going anywhere there. The free-kick is taken quickly but the ball into the area is cleared away.
Ronaldo has not got his shooting boots on tonight. He fires an effort off his right boot outside the box, but it flies well wide.
- OffSérgio OliveiraPortugal
- OnRenato SanchesPortugal
OFFSIDE! Ronaldo will be relieved to see the flag go up. Fernandes found him completely unmarked around three-yards out, but he mistimed his run and got the ball caught in his legs.
- OffJoão CanceloPortugal
- OnNuno MendesPortugal
SUBS! It's a double change for Portugal. Cancelo and Oliveira come off for Mendes and Sanches.
Mitrovic wins Serbia their fourth corner off Cedric. The Fulham striker has looked a different man in this second half. He is up for this! The ball swung in finds Milenkovic but he cannot make clean contact.
Portugal have regained some composure following a flurry of Serbia attacks. Serbia are still looking very threatening on the counter-attack and Dias fouls Tadic. The Ajax man has been causing plenty of problems in this second half.
Radonjic's fierce strike is smashed straight at Lopes who clears. There's roars from the Serbia bench for handball but the referee is not having any of it.
Serbia want another one! Mitrovic sprints into the area but he is tackled by Dias before Fonte dives into deny Tadic. The following corner comes to nothing.
- GoalFilip KosticSerbia
GOAL! Serbia equalise!! It's a rapid, clinical counter-attack that ultimately does it. Radonjic plays an incisive pass into the path of Kostic who calmly slots the ball past Lopes! Serbia are back in this! Portugal are stunned!
Ronaldo has a go but the wall does its job and Portugal have a corner. Fernandes' corner is cleared at the near post by Mitrovic.
YELLOW! For Maksimovic as he tried to bring down Jota. That was a cynical foul and definitely deserving of a yellow card. Jota was sprinting away from him with ease. Ronaldo will have another go at a free-kick on goal...
WHAT A SAVE! Tadic's excellent half-volley on goal is well dealt with by Lopes who acrobatically tips it over the bar! JUST WIDE! The following corner swung in finds Milinkovic-Savic at the near post, but he narrowly glances his header inches wide of the post!
- Yellow cardBruno FernandesPortugal
YELLOWS! First for Fernandes for hauling down Milinkovic-Savic. It means he will miss Portugal's next match at Luxembourg on Tuesday night. Jose Fonte is then booked for a tough tackle on Mitrovic.
Serbia needed to do something at the break and their two substitutions could be what makes all the difference. Radonjic did more in those 30 seconds than Lazovic had done all of the first half. Ronaldo is irritated as he is flagged offside when sprinting into a one-on-one.
- GoalAleksandar MitrovicSerbia
IT'S A GOAL!! Straight away Serbia pull one back and it is Aleksandar Mitrovic with the 39th goal for his country to become their all-time record goalscorer aged just 26! Radonjic's cross is nodded in by Mitrovic who rises above Fonte to turn it home. Serbia back in this!
- 2nd Half
We are back underway! There has been a double change and it's for Serbia. Lazovic comes off for Maksimovic and Vlahovic makes way for Radonjic.
- End of 1st Half
Portugal lead comfortably at the break thanks to two goals from Diogo Jota. The visitors have rarely been troubled and Serbia will have to come up with something radical at half-time to change the outcome of this Group A clash. Second half coming up!
Oliveira has an audacious effort from outside the box, but he drags it well wide. It was not quite of the same level as his free-kick for Porto against Juventus to knock the Serie A club out of the Champions League...
ONE minute of added time at the end of the first half.
FREE-KICK! Fernandes is blocked off by by Gudelj and Portugal have a free-kick on the edge of the box. Up steps Ronaldo... but he fires one of his trademark free-kicks over the bar.
SHOT! Stefan Mitrovic drills a powerful strike on goal but Anthony Lopes makes a comfortable save, his first of the night.
WIDE! Kostic's cross into the box finds Vlahovic, but the Fiorentina striker nods it wide. Jota has been the heading king so far tonight.
- GoalDiogo JotaPortugal
GOAL!! It's a second for Jota and it's another neat header to extend Portugal's lead! Cedric's cross finds the Liverpool man free in the centre of the penalty area and he nods home into Dmitrovic's bottom right corner. Portugal are cruising!
OUCH! Danilo and Mitrovic collide and are both in some discomfort on the ground. Danilo kicks out for a loose ball before Mitrovic appears to leap into him. No cards will be issued and we play on.
Fernandes' low cross looking for Ronaldo is cleared by Mitrovic. The Manchester United midfielder has had a quiet game so far.
Kostic swings a low ball into the box which finds Vlahovic, but the striker blasts his shot over the bar. The left wingback is getting a lot of joy down the flank. Cedric is finding it hard to close him down.
Tadic plays in an outswinger but Pavlovic's shot is blocked.
Dias bundles over Mitrovic but the referee did not feel there was enough there to merit a booking. Serbia are starting to make some inroads as we approach the half-hour mark as Fonte heads behind for the hosts' first corner.
There's a lot of sloppy play going on from both teams. Neither are at their fluid best right now and playing in an empty stadium does not help matters. Vlahovic goes down in the box claiming a penalty after challenging for an aerial ball swung in by Kostic, but the referee waves away the protests. He certainly went down very easily.
The game has hit a bit of a lull with Portugal unable to forge any real attacking moves. But they win a corner off Mitrovic, the first of the match. Silva's outswinger is headed clear.
Play stops for a moment as Danilo goes down injured. He is back up on his feet now, though, and looks OK to continue.
Serbia are attempting to play it long to Mitrovic and Tadic behind him, but Portugal's midfield trio are winning the physical contest so far. Portugal have had 54 per cent possession. Cedric's cross into the box is claimed by Dmitrovic.
Silva brings down Milenkovic before play is stopped when Danilo commits a foul. Serbia are battling to get back into this.
- GoalDiogo JotaPortugal
GOAL!! Jota finds the net with a header at the far-post after he meets Silva's delightful inswinging cross from the right flank! It's the perfect start for coach Fernando Santos on his 1000th game and his team!
Portugal are the ones setting the tempo. Serbia, despite their attacking shape, look content to sit deep and try to hit on the counter. The visitors have been the better side so far.
OVER! Jota slips a through ball to Silva who surges into the box. He tees up Ronaldo at the near post but the 36-year-old blasts his close-range shot over the bar! That looked destined to be a goal when Ronaldo took control of that. That was a big miss!
Lazovic's cross finds Kostic. He attempts to rifle a shot on goal but Cedric dives in to make an important block.
Jota fouls Milinkovic-Savic as he attempts to hoof the ball clear and Serbia have a free-kick. The Liverpool man was not best pleased with the referee over that decision.
Oliveira's cross looking for Ronaldo is punched clear by Dmitrovic under a bit of pressure from the Juventus striker.
Portugal are attempting to adopt a high press are enjoying the ball in these opening stages. This should make for a very intriguing tactical battle with Serbia playing three at the back and Portugal four.

Portugal are warming up. They are the slight favourites to win this Group A clash in Belgrade. Six players in their starting XI tonight play in the Premier League. A front three of Diogo Jota, Bernardo Silva and Cristiano Ronaldo with Bruno Fernandes in behind should be rather exciting.
Seven of Serbia’s last ten competitive home games have produced over 3.5 total goals and their attacking lineup tonight against a very strong-looking Portugal side suggests we could be in for an absolute cracker at Stadion Rajko Mitic - the home of Red Star Belgrade. Cristiano Ronaldo is also pursuing his latest record...
