But Neves clears Kudus' cross at the near post, then when the ball is tossed back, Bruno is up to head behind.

But Rahman is there with him and sees him away easily enough. Portugal are so narrow, I don't understand why Cancelo is so deep.

And hooks a terrific ball over his shoulder and into the box, where Ronaldo, down its left side, shoves Djiku out of the road and absolutely leathers into the far side-netting. But the flag goes up, and that's fair enough - though had it not been given, I'm not sure Var would've disallowed the goal.

Free-kick Portugal, 45 yards out, and Bernardo's effort is easily headed away by Amartey.

He's such a clever passer. But Felix's head goes up and the ball does likewise, well overthe bar.

Kudus backs off when the ball's played out, allowing Neves to get in, and Bruno, Bernardo and Ronaldo combine to get the ball out to Guerreiro. But they might as well have saved the bother, because the eventuating cross is straight into Zigi's arms.

And suddenly, Kudus is in space, with space in behind! By he waits a second too long to slide Williams in and his pass is a poor one in any case, easily intercepted by Dias. Kudus has started this match very poorly.

But they've not got Ghana on the rack. They're not moving the ball quickly enough or running into space intelligently enough.

But they're not getting their creators on the ball anywhere useful. Bruno is either too deep or too wide and Bernardo isn't getting as much of it as he needs.

Someone needs to run in behind. In the meantime, though, Cancelo tries a cross which Djiku heads clear.
