New champion Lewis Hamilton continued his celebrations with a win at Interlagos - but it came only after Max Verstappen was shunted out of the lead by Force India's Esteban Ocon.

WHERE THE RACE WAS WON

It's difficult to imagine that Lewis Hamilton would have won this race had it not been for that already infamous incident on Lap 43. Force India's Esteban Ocon was trying to unlap himself, but succeeded only in shoving leader Max Verstappen off the track.
The Red Bull driver was unsurprisingly furious, and took Ocon to task afterwards in an exchange that turned physical.
Verstappen was adamant that he should have won the race, and in post-race discussions Hamilton opted to steer clear of any controversy by focusing on the excellence of the Mercedes team.
Still, the young Dutchman got a podium place behind the new champion, although unsurprisingly that wasn't satisfying enough for him. Kimi Raikkonen took third for Ferrari - which handed the constructors' championship to Mercedes.

HAMILTON WATCH

Three stars out of five. Nothing spectacular, but sensible driving and capitalising on the misfortune of Verstappen. As always when he's not entirely confident in his own performance, he got antsy towards the end, claiming two laps from the chequered flag that the car wasn't turning and he had no grip. (It was ultimately fine.) It was also interesting to hear him try to calm Verstappen down after the race, telling him that Ocon had the right to try to unlap himself.

PIT RADIO EXCHANGE OF THE DAY

"I cannot drive this." Poor Marcus Ericsson, who had such a great qualifying session, doing better than his much vaunted team-mate Charles Leclerc to start P6. His Sauber just packed up and he was forced to retire not even a third of the way through.

MOVE OF THE RACE

Always good to watch Daniel Ricciardo on form in a car that isn't falling apart - some brilliant use of the brakes today, especially as he got past Valtteri Bottas into fourth place.

BEST OVERTAKE

Another piece of great work from Ricciardo, outpacing Sebastian Vettel on the turn.

TACTICAL MASTERSTROKE

Well, Red Bull seemed to have the best tactics for the day, pitting Verstappen halfway through and putting him on the soft tyres, which looked set to assure him the victory - but you can't quite plan a strategy for accidents. Hamilton stopped very early and his tyres were looking absolutely shredded by the end - but good enough to cling on to the lead.

UNSUNG HERO

Shout-out to Haas. Nobody will notice them this weekend, but eighth and ninth for Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen respectively will do very nicely, thank you.

FACEPALM OF THE WEEKEND

Nico Hulkenberg of Renault found himself in the barriers during Friday's free practice, and ended up retiring from the race halfway through due to a high engine temperature.

STAR-SPOTTING

Veteran drivers abound in Brazil - there's Emerson Fittipaldi...
...and of course Felipe Massa, who's at least stuck to this version of his retirement. So far.
