Andre Lotterer has put himself on Superpole for the Rome E-Prix after a tricky final session in qualifying
Lotterer was in cruise control as he produced a quick lap time of 1:29.761.
The Cheetah driver became the seventh driver in seven races to secure the Julius Baer Pole Position.
However, he had a scare during the end of qualifying of P6.
After the rain started to come down, Lotterer skidded as he came into the hairpin which caused Jaguar to celebrate prematurely.
Jaguar had thought that Lotterer had messed up his chances and were confident that Mitch Evans would take pole.
But they were to be denied as Lotterer regained control to clinch the first pole of his career.
Jean-Eric Vergne had been in ominous form earlier on and had been on top after the first couple of sessions.
Vergne had managed to reach the top despite an early red flag, a full-course yellow flag and a yellow flag being produced.
