Mikael Kingsbury has issued a reminder of why he won Olympic gold with another victory in the men’s dual moguls in Megeve at the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup.
The Canadian beat Frenchman Benjamin Cavet, extending his lead at the top of the discipline standings to 940 points, ahead of Dmitriy Reiherd, who came fifth today, on 585.
Incredibly, Kingsbury was defending his title for the seventh year in the row, while America’s Bradley Wilson completed today’s top three in the small final against Ludvig Fjallstrom, from Sweden.
Compatriot Jaelin Kauf stormed to victory in the women’s event, pipping France’s Perrine Laffont to the post in a win which narrowed the gap between the pair in the discipline standings – PyeongChang champion Laffont is top on 607, with Kauf trailing on 561.
The ladies’ small final saw Canadian Justine Dufour-Lapointe, who won silver in Korea last month, edge out Germany’s Laura Grasemann to third place.
