Sharpe’s second-run score of 95.80 handed the Canadian victory, with Marie Martinod of France taking silver (92.60) and USA’s Brita Sigourney the bronze (90.80).
Meanwhile, there was disappointment for defending champion Maddie Bowman, with the American crashing out in each of her three final runs.

Four years after injury ruled her out of Sochi 2014, Cheshire found herself competing in the halfpipe final after qualifying with a ninth-highest score of 74.00.
And the 22-year-old bested that score with her first run in the final, posting 75.40 to leave her sixth after the opening round, while it was Canada’s Cassie Sharpe who led the way on 94.40.
Cheshire stumbled in her second run to score just 17.80, while Sharpe strengthened her position in first when going on to post a staggering 95.80.

Another fall in Cheshire’s third and final run (13.60) ensured the Brit would finish with her first-run score, and that was enough to place her seventh.
Meanwhile, Annalisa Drew temporarily moved into bronze with a 90.80, but could only watch on as compatriot Sigourney responded immediately to reclaim her spot with a final-run score of 91.60.
Martinod then failed to land a jump to confirm gold for Sharpe, who ultimately had a victory lap in the last run.
Later in the day, GB trio Murray Buchan, Peter Speight and Alexander Glavatsky-Yeadon all missed out on qualifying for the men's halfpipe final.
Buchan was closest to coming in the top 12, but his best score of 66.00 was behind 12th-placed Andreas Gohl of Austria (68.60).
Speight was not far behind on 64.60, while Glavatsky-Yeadon stumbled on both runs.
