Garcia joins Durango

The 24-year-old Spaniard impressed the team in recent tests at Valencia and team chief Ivone Pinton believes a title challenge is on the cards.

Pinton said: "I am very happy with the choice of Borja Garcia, who is one of the best young talents in Spanish motorsport.

"Borja has all the abilities to win the championship and we hope that we can help him to do that."

Garcia finished 14th in the inaugural GP2 Series in 2005 racing for Racing Engineering, taking a second place in the Spa sprint race, but stepped down to the Renault World Series last season, where he finished second overall with one win.
