White keen to make his mark after England Handball appointment

White was the man to make history for his country at London 2012, as the first player to lead a British handball team at an Olympic Games in a competition that was certainly a baptism of fire.

He became a mentor on the AASE programme a year after his Olympic whirlwind, going on to become the England Handball AASE team manager in the same year.

But with this step-up to the main role, White is confident that his mark can be made on a team vying for their return to the Olympic stage.

"I'm really excited about this new role. I've already had plenty of hands-on experience in the performance pathway and am looking forward to expanding on the great work that has already been done," he said.

"I'm also looking forward to bringing my own ideas to the table and exploring new opportunities."

This won't be White's first experience with his nation, having been team manager during GB's victories over Australia and China in the IHF Emerging Nationals, a role which included team coaching duties.

Success was also to come this way in a friendly against Ireland, with England Handball CEO David Meli more than content with his appointment.

"He has led the development of our AASE programme over the last four years which has seen it become a focal point for our talent programme," he explained.

"He brings broad experience across coaching, playing and development areas which I know will help him to further develop our performance pathway – enabling our most talented young players to reach their potential."
