Dominikovic had been barred from taking part after it was announced he had given a positive test for a diuretic while playing for Spanish team Portland San Antonio in a Cup match last December.

However, the Spanish laboratory carrying out the tests said that an administrative error had led to another player's sample being attributed to the Croat.

"At last the truth has emerged and I'm delighted about it," Dominikovic told Marca.

"People can say I don't know how to score, pass or defend, but they can never say I have taken a banned substance."

Dominikovic has missed the registration for the second phase of the world championships but will be able play if Croatia qualify for the quarter-finals.

The name of the player who gave the positive test has not been disclosed.
