The two-goal game was the third in a row for Couturier, who has nine goals in
his past seven games and 25 goals overall this season. His previous
single-season high for goals was 15 in 2014-15.
Wayne Simmonds scored in the second period, and Travis Konecny and Michael
Raffl added insurance goals in the third period for the Flyers, who have won
four straight. Goalie Brian Elliott recorded 26 saves.
The Devils have lost six straight.
Wild 4, Jets 1
Matt Dumba scored two goals while Mikael Granlund added a goal and an assist
as host Minnesota beat Winnipeg.
The Wild came out strong early, thanks to a 23-shot first period where it took
an early 1-0 lead, and Winnipeg couldn't come back.
Winnipeg's Mathieu Perreault scored 47 seconds into the third period, but
Dumba answered with goals at 6:23 and 13:32.
Islanders 7, Rangers 2
Anthony Beauvillier and Mathew Barzal each scored twice in the all-New York
clash at Madison Square Garden.
Beauvillier ran his season tally up to seven goals, while Barzal now leads all
NHL rookies with 15. Barzal also had three assists in the contest.
Jordan Eberle contributed four assists in the Islanders' second straight win
following a season-high, five-game losing streak.
Penguins 4, Red Wings 1
Evgeni Malkin scored two goals and assisted on two more to lead Pittsburgh to
a home victory over Detroit.
Malkin has scored five goals over the last three games.
Phil Kessel supplied a goal and two assists, and Sidney Crosby contributed a
goal and an assist.
Bruins 4, Canadiens 3 (SO)
Brad Marchand scored the winning goal in the fourth round of a shootout, and
Boston continued its roll with a win over host Montreal.
The Bruins have gone more than a month without losing in regulation time,
producing a 9-0-3 record in that span, with the latest win coming against
their former head coach, Claude Julien.
The game also had a scary incident when Montreal's Phillip Danault was hit in
the head by a puck shot by Boston captain Zdeno Chara and was taken off the
ice via stretcher. According to the Canadiens, Danault was taken to hospital
but was awake and moving. He was to remain hospitalized overnight.
