Germany’s David Moeller bit off more than he could chew when he broke his front tooth biting into his Olympic luge silver medal.

The 28-year-old (pictured, left) finished behind compatriot Felix Loch (centre) at the controversial Whistler Sliding Centre, where Georgian Nodar Kumaritashvili died in a training, with Italy’s Armin Zoeggeler (right) completing the podium.
But Moeller’s joy was curtailed and the 2004 and 2007 world champion was forced to make an embarrassing trip to the dentist.
"The photographers wanted us to bite into our medals at the presentation ceremony and a corner of my front tooth broke off," admitted Moeller.
"It wasn't too bad and it didn't hurt but it is annoying when you can't smile as you normally do.
"And because I want to have nice pictures and happy memories of my Olympic Games, I went to the dentist to get it repaired."
