Warning: Graphic content. Umar Nurmagomedov broke his hand during the first round of his bantamweight title bout against Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 311 in Inglewood, California. Nurmagomedov - the cousin of UFC legend and former lightweight champion Khabib - lost via unanimous decision to the Georgian after five close rounds in the fight of the night, with his record now 18-1.

Umar Nurmagomedov broke his hand as he suffered his maiden defeat against Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 311 in Inglewood, California.
The Russian, cousin of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib, was defeated for the first time in his career via unanimous decision at the Intuit Dome as he lost his shot at the bantamweight title.
However, images have surfaced online of Nurmagomedov's injured hand - an issue which he sustained in the first round, which hindered his performance. Warning: Graphic content.
In the main event at UFC 311, Khabib's record of the most successful lightweight belt defences was beaten by Islam Makhachev, who submitted Renato Moicano in the first round to record his fourth successive title defence.
Khabib had previously jointly held the record with Benson Henderson and BJ Penn.
Khabib is Makhachev's coach, but his night did not end perfectly as he watched his cousin lose his unbeaten record.
Umar came out strong in the first two rounds, peppering Dvalishvili with punches, but the Georgian turned the contest around to stun the favourite.
And after the fight Dominance MMA Management founder, Ali Abdelaziz revealed that Umar had fought the lion's share of the fight with a broken hand.
"I am the machine," Dvalishvili said after the fight. He also said that he had discovered an infection in his leg the day prior.
"Umar is a tough fighter, and he's good, but he called me old. Yes, I'm old, but I work every day. I'm a harder worker. The whole world was against me."
