Marquez expects to be fully fit in Italy

The world championship leader dislocated his right shoulder in a crash in the British Grand Prix warm-up, but was able to finish second after a colossal battle with Jorge Lorenzo in the race just five hours later.

Further examinations after the Silverstone weekend confirmed that Marquez did not need surgery.

He is undergoing physiotherapy and anticipates being close to full fitness.

"I'm already feeling much better since my accident in Silverstone, so hopefully I'll be almost 100 per cent by this weekend," said Marquez.

"I will arrive in Italy for the race weekend a little later than usual as I will use the time to have more physiotherapy on my shoulder."

All three MotoGP title contenders have now suffered injuries during the season, with both Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa breaking their collarbones, but Marquez is the only one of the trio who has not had to miss any races.

With six rounds remaining, Honda's rookie sensation leads team-mate Pedrosa by 30 points and Yamaha team leader Lorenzo by 39.
