Frenzel takes top spot with victory in Lahti

Germany's Eric Frenzel eased to victory in the men's World Cup in Lahti on Saturday, crossing the line more than four seconds ahead of his nearest rival.

Olympic champion Frenzel clocked a time of 29:13.7 to secure his fourth individual World Cup win of the campaign, with Eero Hirvonen of Finland coming in in second, 4.1 seconds behind.
Frenzel's German teammate Johannes Rydzek finished third, 26.4 seconds back but more than 20 seconds ahead of fourth-place Wilhelm Denifl of Austria.
The victory sees Frenzel top the World Cup standings on 554 points, 14 ahead of Rydzek.
Fellow Germans Fabian Riessle and Bjoern Kircheisen occupy third and fourth spot.
