Germany win team event in Lillehammer

Germany won the first team event of the new Nordic combined World Cup season to cement their place atop the Nations Cup standings.

The quartet of Bjoern Kircheisen, Eric Frenzel, Fabian Riessle and Johannes Rydzek led following the ski jump portion in Lillehammer, with the former top-scoring here with 129.8 points.
They then came home in 49:34.9 minutes to take the win, with home favourites Norway 31.5 seconds further back in second.

And completing the podium were Austria as they came home 1:23.7 minutes behind Germany, although Wilhelm Denifil was able to boast the best jump with a score of 137 points.
Germany lead the Nations Cup standings with 946 points, with Austria second on 697 and Norway third with 504.
