After 19th and third place finishes in the first two days, Johannes Rydzek's form was clearly going in the right direction and he confirmed that with a solid performance on Sunday.
A jump of 134m earned him 137.4 points on the large hill in Finland, good enough for eighth place, and although he only finished seventh in the 10km cross country, it was enough to win by just 0.6 seconds from fellow German Eric Frenzel.
Finland's Eero Hirvonen came home third on the day, but an 11th place from Akito Watabe, added to his third on Friday and win the following day, gave him the overall Ruka Tour title.
Norway's Espen Andersen finished on 176 points overall, eight behind Watabe, in second place, while Rydzek – a two-time Olympic medallist and six-time world champion – could only manage 172 and third place.
With the Ruka Tour acting as the opener to the World Cup season, that leaves the global standings mirroring those of the weekend, with the action continuing in Lillehammer next weekend.
