Warner bros. Discovery launches new Olympic programming slate on the road to Paris 2024

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports Europe today announces a raft of new athlete-led content, programming and exclusive documentaries to excite Olympic fans and to celebrate the athletes preparing for glory in Paris this summer.

Leading the way is Chasing Glory, WBD’s exclusive new seven-part fly on the wall series that chronicles the pursuit of gold by six of the world’s most recognisable athletes in the year leading up to Paris 2024. From World Record holders and global superstars to aspiring young medal prospects and cultural icons, each athlete represents an eclectic diaspora of sports as the Olympics continues to modernise and embrace change.

Continuing the Olympic storytelling, new episodes of Eurosport's first-person Refugees’ Voice feature will be published on Eurosport.com from next month. Part of WBD’s Home Crowd campaign which seeks to garner support for the Refugee Olympic Team and raise greater awareness of displaced people, the series will feature the stories of Refugee Athlete Scholarship holders hoping to be selected to compete in Paris. In addition, and following its premiere in December, We Dare to Dream, the Olympic refugee documentary directed by Oscar-nominated Waad Al-Kateab, is now available to watch on-demand on discovery+ and the Eurosport App across Europe.

As part of the most complete Olympic experience, WBD will also air the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024, taking place from 19 January to 1 February. Eurosport App and discovery+ subscribers will be able to follow the world’s top young athletes who are set to star at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, which will be shown live on WBD’s channel and platforms.

Since the ‘One Year to Go’ milestone, WBD has released a host of Olympic content across its channels and platforms to continue increasing awareness of Olympic athletes and events amongst sports fans. This includes the release of original documentary Paris, La Vie Sportive to mark the ‘one year to go’ milestone, which recalls Paris’ historic and unique relationship with sport in the 100 years since it last hosted the Olympic Games in 1924, narrated by legendary 1998 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2000 winner Thierry Henry.

Beyond the Road to Paris 2024 programming, an Olympic Games theme features in Warner Bros. Pictures’ biographical sports drama The Boys in the Boat, now available in cinemas following its 8 January premiere. The George Clooney-directed film based on Daniel James Brown’s 2013 novel tells the remarkable true story of the University of Washington rowing team who defied the odds to rise from humble beginnings to represent Team USA at Olympic Games Berlin 1936 held in Nazi Germany.

Warner Bros. Discovery is the Home of the Olympics in Europe and its streaming platforms – including Max and discovery+ - will be the only place to watch every moment of the Olympics this summer. In addition, Eurosport’s channels will provide wall-to-wall live coverage for sports fans across the 19 days of competition.
