Logo to boost MS

World Series of Poker final table chip leader Dennis Phillips is holding an online auction to earn a logo on his jersey for next month's final table which is being televised in the United States.

All the proceeds will go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Phillips became involved in the fight against MS when his brother was diagnosed with it over ten years ago.
"Being on the final table of the WSOP is an opportunity of a lifetime, but we hope that this opportunity will one day save someone's life," said Phillips.

Top model Christina Lindley has officially become a professional poker.
Lindley gained initial fame through a 25 page layout in Muscular Development magazine and would become a staple in popular fitness magazines over the next few years.
Gaining additional fame through appearances in Maxim and Playboy magazines, Lindley also started working as an actress in recent years. She has appeared in several films including Big Momma's House 2, and she had a role in the 2006 film The Marine, which was a WWE movie starring John Cena.
Now she is trying to establish herself in the poker world.
She has previously played in several charity events, including the Last Chance for Africa tournament, and her debut as a pro sees her go up against Annie Duke and Phil Helmuth in a show to be aired on Fox Sports in the United States.

Daniel Craker won New Zealand's biggest ever poker competition, beating 305 rivals in the $3,000 buy-in Festival of Poker in Auckland to take home $257,040.
Craker, a plasterer from just north of Wellington, gained entry via a smaller satellite tournament and now wins entry to the Asian Pacific Poker Tour Grand Final in Sydney.
Players from 21 different countries, including 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event winner Joe Hachem, ensured an $800,000 prize pool.

The Latin American Poker Tour has announced an expanded season two schedule which will begin in early November.
The first event is in San Jose, Costa Rica at the Herradura Conference Centre with the final table on November 5.
Then the tour stops off in Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina with the buy-in for the opening six legs at $3,700.
The buy-in for the season-ending LAPT Championship next April will be $5,200.
“We were so overwhelmed with the success of LAPT season one that we wanted to come back with season two straight away, moving it into the high-season for Latin American tourism,” said LAPT president Glenn Cademartori.
“It will be the best time for Latin Americans, as well as North Americans, Europeans, and players from across the globe to travel to these exotic destinations for live high-stakes championship poker.”
