The team, which comprised of Karen Bennett, Olivia Carnegie-Brown, Zoe de Toledo (cox), Jessica Eddie, Katie Greves, Frances Houghton, Zoe Lee, Polly Swann and Melanie Wilson, lost out to the USA who won gold while Romania took bronze just 12 hundreths of a second behind.

Canada had got off to an incredible start and were leading after 1,000m but fell away and could not clinch a medal. Britain meanwhile got stronger and slipped into bronze place at 1,500m and then silver position, but could not catch the dominant Americans.
