France flyhalf David Skrela has been ruled out of Saturday's Six Nations match against Scotland due to an ankle injury.
Skrela will be replaced by Lionel Beauxis, the captain of the French side that won last year's under-21 World Cup who has been his understudy at Stade Francais this season and with the national team during the championship.
Skrela started France's first four games but injured his right ankle during the defeat by England last Sunday at Twickenham and left the field at halftime. Beauxis came on as a replacement in France's first four matches, for 12 minutes against Italy, 23 against Ireland, four against Wales and the whole second half against England.
"If Skrela were to be ruled out, I have no worries because Beauxis trained with the starting XV all week," France coach Bernard Laporte had said before Skrela's withdrawal was announced. "He is only 21 but Saturday's match would be a good opportunity to see him playing a full game," he added.
