Elise Christie produced a stunning performance to set a short-lived Olympic Record in the 500m Short Track heats at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics.
Christie's first foray onto the ice in Korea showed her in imperious form, as she sprinted away from her competition from the start, and led throughout.
The Scot clocked 42.872 seconds, with China's Qu Chunyu joining her in the final rounds on Tuesday.
Christie's time was a new Olympic Record that stood for just a handful of minutes, as Korea's Choi Minjeong went two thousandths faster in her heat - 42.870.
Christie is competing in the 500m, 1000m and 1500m in PyeongChang after being disqualified from all three events in Sochi four years ago.
Fellow Britons Charlotte Gilmartin and Kathryn Thomson both crashed out of their heats and failed to qualifying for the latter stages.
