The 23-year-old Norwegian, who won just one event last season - in Willingen, Germany, in February - finished top of the pile in Nizhny Tagil, taking advantage of a stuttering second-round display from Ryoyu Kobayashi.
Japan's Kobayashi had led comfortably after round one but his second round jump, which accumulated just 125.1 points, was easily surpassed by Forfang, who racked up 131.9 points.
In the end, Poland's Piotr Zyla, who scored 264.2 points overall, put the most pressure on the Norwegian - who was second in the men's normal hill individual event at PyeongChang 2018 - as Forfang took the win with a score of 264.4.
The World Cup circuit returns on Sunday, with another round of large hill action taking place at the same venue. Sportsbeat 2018
