The 2010 world champion has reached the finals of the past four events he has entered, winning the Welsh Open against Stuart Bingham in February before losing the final of the Players Championship and Tour Championship to Ronnie O'Sullivan in March.
O'Sullivan - who has opted out of the trip to China before the World Championship begins on April 20 in Sheffield - reclaimed the world number one spot with his success in those events.
If Robertson collects the £225,000 top prize in Beijing, he will have won £405,000 from his past four tournaments.
A Robertson win in Beijing will see him join O'Sullivan as the only players who can earn over £1m from a single season with £500,000 on the line for the winner of the World Championship.
Robertson will be among the favourites for a second world title on current form alongside O'Sullivan and Masters champion Judd Trump.
Robertson will face JackLisowski in the penultimate final of the season after the Englishman romped to a 10-1 victory over Scott Donaldson in the other semi-final.
The 27-year-old eased to victory, with century-high breaks of 114 and 136 over the Scotsman. Despite Lisowski losing all three previous meetings against Donaldson, Lisowski was the dominant force to ease through to the best-of-21 frame final.

Robertson's fluke of season contender

Robertson had won the final three frames of the first session to open up a 5-4 lead on Brecel, but broke down on 41 in the ninth frame as Brecel rolled in 85 to restore parity at 5-5.
The Belgian number one won a scrappy 11th frame in which he picked up an astonishing 36 points from fouls.
The Melbourne player responded swiftly with runs of 56 and 65 seeing him again edge 7-6 clear at the mid-session interval.
A 49 from Brecel levelled matters at 7-7, but Robertson always looked the likelier winner as immaculate contributions of 73, 83 and 66 saw him over the winning line.
The China Open final is live on Eurosport and the Eurosport Player on Sunday from 6am (BST).

FIRST SESSION REPORT

Neil Robertson secured a narrow 5-4 lead over Luca Brecel in the first session of their China Open semi-final on Saturday.
Robertson went into the semi-finals on the back of a 17-frame streak after whitewashing Lu Ning and Sam Craigie in successive rounds.
But the world number seven found it much harder going against Brecel, having to wait until the ninth frame of the match to open up a lead over his opponent.
Brecel took the opening frame and then went on to carve out a 3-1 lead. Robertson responded with a majestic 135 break to take the fifth frame, before Brecel compiled a first ton of his own, with a 116 restoring his two-frame advantage.
From then on it was all Robertson. Back-to-back breaks of 94 and 98 saw him draw level at four frames apiece and after an engrossing safety battle in the ninth, the Australian eventually came through 76-53 to take a slender advantage into the second session.
