Ronnie O'Sullivan crashed out of the English Open in limp fashion on Saturday evening, beaten in emphatic fashion 6-1 by world number 45 Mark Davis.

Davis looked the more comfortable player at the table right from the start of the best-of-11-frame match, taking the first frame and making a century break in the third to restore his lead after a brief O'Sullivan revival.
The five-times world champion looked far from his best, making basic mistakes time and again, and had no answer to Davis' relentless pot success as he dismantled the game's greatest player, whose highest break was only 56 in winning the second frame.
The match unravelled quickly for O'Sullivan after going 2-1 down, with run of 93, 84 and 65 putting Sussex potter Davis on the cusp of victory.

And another error-strewn final frame from O'Sullivan handed Davis the chance to seal his place in the final - an opportunity he duly grabbed with his opponent appearing to have given up the ghost.
Victory is a proud moment for Davis, seeing him reach a major final for the first time in 27 years as a professional.
But there is much to ponder for O'Sullivan, who has claimed he has started tinkering with his technique despite enjoying the most successful campaign of his 26-year career with five tournament wins last season.
