Snooker news - Murphy out after defeat to Ning at Gibraltar Open

Shaun Murphy crashed out of the Gibraltar Open 4-2 in the third round to China's Lu Ning.

Elsewhere, Ryan Day edged Eliliot Slessor 4-3, while Gary Wilson beat Ken Doherty 4-1, and Stuart Bingham came through 4-3 against Eden Sharav.
Andrew Higginson did not drop a frame against Andy Lee. Ben Woolaston lost 4-1 to Robert Milkins, and Hamza Akbar fell 5-2 to David Gilbert.
Kyren Wilson made short work of Ross Muir with a 4-1 victory.

ROUND TWO

Bingham had earlier completed a 4-0 white wash over Anthony Hamilton in the second round of the Gibraltar Open.
Bingham won without dropping a frame in a dominating performance.
Jimmy White got through to the second round of the Gibraltar Open after defeating Robbie Williams.
White hit a century break of 120 in a 4-2 victory, but lost 4-1 to Kyren Wilson later in the day.
In the second round, Billy Joe Castle was defeated 4-3 by Hamza Akbar.
Andrew Higginson claimed a 4-2 win over Ashley Carty, and Jack Lisowski was drubbed 4-0 by Gary Wilson. There was another whitewash as Tian Pengfie beat Liam Highfield.
Joe Swail was defeated 4-2 by David Gilbert. Ken Doherty defeated Francisco Sanchez Ruiz by the same margin.
